Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohm registered?
Yes
INSTALL A NEW rear lamp (tailgate). CHECK
system operates correctly
No
LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between the rear lamp (tailgate) and soldered
connection SP534 with the aid of the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
B17: CHECK THE SHARED VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE RIGHT-HAND REAR LAMPS FOR
OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Smart Junction Box from connector
C1BP02B.

Measure the resistance between the Smart
Junction Box, connector C1BP02B, pin 51, circuit
CLS09A (WH/OG), wiring harness side and ground.
3
Is a resistance of less than 10,000 Ohm registered?
Yes
INSTALL A NEW Smart Junction Box. CHECK
system operates correctly
No
LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between the Smart Junction Box and soldered
connection SP568 with the aid of the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
B18: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE RIGHT-HAND REAR LAMP (LAMP
ASSEMBLY) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Rear lamp (lamp assembly) from
connector C4LS19A.

Ignition switch in position II.

SWITCH ON the parking lamps.

Measure the voltage between the rear lamp unit
(lamp assembly), connector C4LS19A, pin 2, circuit
CLS09B (WH/OG), wiring harness side and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes
GO to B19
.
No
LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuit
between soldered connection SP568 and the rear
lamp unit (lamp assembly) with the aid of the
Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
B19: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION OF THE RIGHT-HAND REAR LAMP (LAMP
ASSEMBLY) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between the right-hand
rear lamp unit (lamp assembly), connector
C4LS19A, pin 3, circuit GD152A (BK/BU), wiring
harness side and ground.

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohm registered?
Yes
INSTALL A NEW rear lamp unit (lamp assembly).
CHECK system operates correctly
No
LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between the rear lamp unit (lamp assembly) and
soldered connection SP600 with the aid of the
Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
B20: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE RIGHT-HAND REAR LAMP (TAILGATE) FOR
OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Rear lamp unit (tailgate) from
connector C4LS36.

Ignition switch in position II.

SWITCH ON the parking lamps.

Measure the voltage between the right-hand rear
lamp unit (tailgate), connector C4LS36, pin 3,
circuit CLS09F (WH/OG), wiring harness side and
ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes
GO to B21
.
No
LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuits
between soldered connection SP568 and the rear
lamp unit (tailgate) with the aid of the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
B21: CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION AT THE RIGHT-HAND REAR LAMP
(TAILGATE) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between the right-hand
rear lamp unit (tailgate), connector C4LS36, pin 2,
circuit GD150W (BK/WH), wiring harness side and
ground.

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohm registered?
Yes
INSTALL A NEW rear lamp unit (tailgate). CHECK
system operates correctly
No
LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in the circuit
between the rear lamp unit (tailgate) and soldered
connection SP534 with the aid of the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
PINPOINT TEST C : ALL OR ONE PARKING LAMP(S), TAIL LAMP(S) OR
LICENCE PLATE LAMP(S) IS/ARE PERMANENTLY LIT

CHECK the parking lamps.

Are all parking lamps permanently lit?
Yes
GO to C2

No
- Left-hand front parking lamp permanently lit:
GO
to C10
.
- Right-hand front parking lamp permanently lit:
GO to C10
.
- Left-hand rear parking lamps permanently lit:
GO
to C11
.
- Right-hand rear parking lamps permanently lit:
GO to C11
.
- License plate lamps permanently lit:
GO to C12
.
C2: DETERMINE VEHICLE EQUIPMENT LEVEL
Find out whether the vehicle is fitted with the
daytime running lamps (DRL) option.

Does the vehicle have daytime running lamps (DRL)?
Yes
CHECK the software configuration of the GEM with
the aid of WDS, and update it if necessary. CHECK
system operates correctly If the concern persists:
GO to C3
.
No
GO to C3
.
C3: CHECK FUSE F33 (5 A) (EJB)
Ignition switch in position 0.
1
Disconnect fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB).
2
CHECK fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB).
3
Is the fuse OK.?
Yes
GO to C4
.
No
RENEW fuse F33 (5 A) (EJB) and CHECK the
operation of the system. If the fuse blows again,
LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground using the
Wiring Diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
C4: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO FUSE F17 (60 A) (EJB) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position II.
1
Measure the voltage between fuse F17 (60 A)
(EJB) and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes
GO to C5
.
No
LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage
supply of fuse F17 (60 A) (EJB) with the aid of the
wiring diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
C5: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO FUSE F18 (60 A) (EJB) FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position II.
1
Measure the voltage between fuse F18 (60 A)
(EJB) and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes
GO to C6
.
No
LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage
supply of fuse F18 (60 A) (EJB) with the aid of the
wiring diagrams. CHECK system operates correctly
C6: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE LIGHTS CONTROL MODULE FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT
Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Lights control module from connector
C2LF23D.
2
Measure the voltage between the lights control
module, connector C2LF23D, pin 1, circuit SBB33B
(RD), wiring harness side and ground.
