LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage
supply of fuse F43 (5 A) (EJB) using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the system.

A4: CHECK FUSE F39 (15 A) (EJB)

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect fuse F39 (15 A) (EJB).

CHECK fuse F39 (15 A) (EJB).

Is the fuse OK.?
Yes

GO to A5

.

No

RENEW fuse F39 (15 A) (EJB). CHECK the operation
of the system. If the fuse blows again, LOCATE and
RECTIFY the short to ground using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the system.

A5: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO FUSE F39 (15 A) (EJB)

Connect fuse F39 (15 A) (EJB).

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between fuse F39 (15 A)
(EJB) and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to A6

.

No

LOCATE AND RECTIFY the break in the voltage
supply of fuse F39 (15 A) (EJB) using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the system.

A6: CHECK THE COMMON VOLTAGE SUPPLY OF THE HEADLAMP LEVELLING MOTORS
FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Left-hand headlamp from connector
C1LF08.

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between left-hand headlamp,
connector C1LF08, pin 1, circuit CBB43B (GY),

wiring harness side and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to A7

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the break in circuits between
fuse F43 (5 A) (EJB) and soldered connection
SP171 using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK the
operation of the system.

TO BATTERY VOLTAGE

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Right-hand headlamp from connector
C1LF09.

Disconnect Lighting control module from connector
C2LF23D.

Disconnect Vehicles with adaptive front lighting
module: Adaptive front lighting module from

connector C2LF23A.

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between the lighting control

module, connector C2LF23D, pin 4:

Vehicles without adaptive front lighting module:
circuit VLF22B (VT/GN), wiring harness side and
ground.

Vehicles with adaptive front lighting module:
circuit A_VLF22A (VT/GN), wiring harness side
and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to battery voltage
in the circuits connected to the lighting control
module, connector C2LF23D, pin 4 using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the system.

No

- vehicles without adaptive front lighting module:

GO to A12

- vehicles with adaptive front lighting module:

GO

to A8

A8: CHECK THE COMMON CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR HEADLAMP LEVELLING FOR SHORT
TO BATTERY VOLTAGE

Measure the voltage between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23A, pin 16, circuit

VLF22E (VT/GN), wiring harness side and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to battery voltage
in the circuits connected to the adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23A, pin 16 using
the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the
system.

No

GO to A9

A9: CHECK VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING MODULE FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Measure the voltage between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23A, pin 10, circuit

CBB43C (GY), wiring harness side and ground.

Does the meter display battery voltage?
Yes

GO to A10

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY break in circuit between
soldered connection SP171 and adaptive front
lighting module using the Wiring Diagrams. CHECK
the operation of the system.

A10: CHECK VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING MODULE FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Adaptive front lighting module from
connector C2LF23B.

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23B, pin 1, circuit

CBB39D (VT/WH), wiring harness side and ground.

Measure the voltage between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23B, pin 2, circuit

CBB39G (VT/WH), wiring harness side and ground.

Is battery voltage measured in both cases?
Yes

GO to A11

.

No

- If battery voltage is not measured during both of
the measurements: LOCATE and RECTIFY the break
in circuits between soldered connection SP174 and
fuse F39 (15 A) (EJB) using the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK the operation of the system.
- If battery voltage is not measured during one of
the measurements: LOCATE and RECTIFY break in
the affected circuit between soldered connection
SP174 and adaptive front lighting module using the
Wiring Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the
system.

A11: CHECK GROUND CONNECTION TO ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING MODULE FOR
OPEN CIRCUIT

Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23A, pin 1, circuit

GD138BU (BK/WH), wiring harness side and
ground.

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohms registered?
Yes

GO to A12

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY break in circuit between
adaptive front lighting module and ground
connection G6D139 using the Wiring Diagrams.
CHECK the operation of the system.

A12: CHECK THE COMMON CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR HEADLAMP LEVELLING FOR
SHORT TO GROUND

Ignition switch in position 0.

Measure the resistance between the lighting
control module, connector C2LF23D, pin 4:

Vehicles without adaptive front lighting module:
circuit VLF22B (VT/GN), wiring harness side and
ground.

Vehicles with adaptive front lighting module:
circuit A_VLF22A (VT/GN), wiring harness side
and ground.

Is a resistance of more than 10,000 Ohm measured?
Yes

- vehicles without adaptive front lighting module:

GO to A15

. - vehicles with adaptive front lighting

module:

GO to A13

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground in the
circuits connected to the lighting control module,
connector C2LF23D, pin 4 using the Wiring
Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the system.

A13: CHECK THE COMMON CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR HEADLAMP LEVELLING FOR
SHORT TO GROUND

Measure the resistance between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23A, pin 16, circuit

VLF22E (VT/GN), wiring harness side and ground.

Is a resistance of more than 10,000 Ohm measured?
Yes

GO to A14

.

No

LOCATE and RECTIFY the short to ground in the
circuits connected to the adaptive front lighting
module, connector C2LF23A, pin 16 using the
Wiring Diagrams. CHECK the operation of the
system.

A14: CHECK COMMON CONTROL CIRCUIT OF HEADLAMP LEVELLING FOR OPEN
CIRCUIT

Measure the resistance between the lighting
control module, connector C2LF23D, pin 4, circuit

A_VLF22A (VT/GN), wiring harness side and
adaptive front lighting module, connector C2LF23A,
pin 9, circuit A_VLF22A (VT/GN), wiring harness
side.

Measure the resistance between adaptive front
lighting module, connector C2LF23A, pin 16, circuit

VLF22E (VT/GN), wiring harness side and left-hand
headlamp, connector C1LF08, pin 3, circuit VLF22A
(VT/GN), wiring harness side.

Is a resistance of less than 2 Ohm measured in both
