6. Position the driveshaft and align the marks on the pinion flange.

CAUTION: The driveshaft centering socket yoke fits tightly on the rear axle
pinion flange pilot. To make sure that the yoke seats squarely on the
flange, tighten the bolts evenly in a cross pattern as shown.

7. Install the driveshaft.
8. Install the brake discs and calipers. For additional information, refer to REAR BRAKE DISC and
REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER & PADS .

Removal
1. Remove the pinion flange (4851). For additional information, refer to DRIVE PINION FLANGE .
2. Force up on the metal flange of the rear axle drive pinion seal (4676). Install gripping pliers and strike
with a hammer until the pinion seal is removed.
