1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
FUEL TANK TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Removal
1. Perform the pressure relief - fuel line venting procedure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
RELEASE .
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the fuel tank temperature sensor.
1. Disconnect the fuel tank temperature sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the fuel tank temperature sensor.

Installation
NOTE:
When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive
symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The
vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to learn the strategy.
NOTE:
Replace the fuel tank temperature sensor O-ring seal.
NOTE:
Lubricate the fuel tank temperature sensor O-ring seal with Super
Premium 5W30 engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-F or
equivalent prior to installation, to help seal and ease the installation.
