Removal and Installation
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to PRESSURE RELIEF .
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. If equipped, remove the bolts and the fuel tank skid plate.
WARNING:
Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when
working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable
mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible
injury.
WARNING:
Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the
engine is not running.

5. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank. Refer to FUEL TANK DRAINING .
6. Remove one hose clamp on the fuel tank filler pipe support.

7. Disconnect the fuel tank-to-filler pipe hose from the fuel tank.

8. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe vent hose from the fuel tank.
