6. Place identification marks on the upper in-bed fuel tank straps and tank.

7. Remove the upper in-bed fuel tank straps.

1. Remove the retaining bolts.

8. Position the heavy duty floor crane, separator lifting bar and endless lifting slings.

9. Carefully raise and remove the forward in-bed fuel tank.

Installation

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

Align the identification marks on the upper in-bed fuel tank straps and tank.

z

Make sure that the electrical connectors are fully installed and locked in place to ensure a water-
tight seal.

NOTE:

Replace the fuel line O-ring seals.

NOTE:

Lubricate the fuel line O-ring seals with 5W30 engine oil meeting Ford
specification WSS-M2C153-G or equivalent prior to installation, to help
seal and ease the installation.

NOTE:

When tightening the fuel line, a torque wrench adapter must be used with
the torque wrench. The use of a torque wrench adapter will alter the
effective torque of the torque wrench being used. To correct the effective
torque, a torque multiplication conversion must be used; Refer to
TORQUE MULTIPLICATION CONVERSION .
