(1) Assemble the side gear, pinion and
thrust washer (Figure 74) into the casing
and rotate to the position as required
(Figure 73).
(2) Fix the pinion shaft (Figure 72).
(3) Use a hammer and appropriate punch
to fix the pinion shaft thrust pin (Figure
75).

(4) Strike in the thrust pin as the figure
shows (Figure 76).

(5) Fix the differential bearing onto the
gear ring and casing side (Figure 77 and
78).

(6) Fix the car speed sensor drive gear
(Figure 79).

(7) Press the car speed sensor drive gear
into the differential casing with a press
or steel block (Figure 80 and 81).

(8) Fix the gear ring and screw on the
new bolts with a torque of 81N.m
(Figure 82).

III. Measuring and adjusting
vibration
(1) Turn the differential assembly in the
clockwise and counterclockwise
direction; fix the dial indicator as the
figure shows and record the axial
clearance (Figure 83 and 84). Measure
the axial clearance of side gear and
record the measured value.
