INTRODUCTION
This catalog lists special tools used to service Harley-Davidson products. These are quality tools, specially designed and made for a specific job - either to save time, or because the service or repair operation cannot be done without special tools.

If your service shop performs any of the service operations as described for each tool in the following list, seriously consider obtaining the service tool listed, so that customer repairs can be made correctly to customer satisfaction, and quickly to increase service shop profits. IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES FOR TOOL USE

The tools in this list are specialized for particular jobs. Always use the correct size and type of tool designed specifically for the job being done. Keep tools in proper working condition. Failure to follow these common sense precautions could cause a serious injury to you and others.

1. Screwdriver blades are made to turn screws, and should never be used for other purposes. Worn blades, worn screw slots or use of the wrong size blade could cause the tool to slip with possible personal injury.

2. Only power drive type sockets specially designed for use on pneumatic or electric impact type wrenches should be used on such wrenches.

3. All wrenches are designed to a specific size/length/ strength ratio. The use of any means for obtaining increased leverage could cause breakage or slippage and is especially hazardous.

4. Keep hammer heads tightened on handle to prevent heads from accidentally flying off and injuring yourself or others.

5. Suitable eye protection, through use of either safety glasses, goggles or hood, depending on the type of job. must be used for any job involving the use of tools, particularly when using punches, hammers, chisels, drills or grinding tools.

6. Use tools only for their designed purposes and within their size range.

7. Tools do not always last forever. Replace all worn out or damaged tools.
