There
have
been cases in
which this fault is
stored by the
E.C.U. following
after failures in
engine
speed
measurement.
Failure is usually
associated
to
sudden ignition
missing
at
>3000 rpm en-
gine speed, with
engine
discon-
nection follow-
ing. Reading fail-
ure
memory,
fault
code
DTC52 is dis-
played,
some-
times followed
by DTC56 (re-
lating to fault on
Immobilizer).
The fault is at-
tributable to the
gear
wheel,
which probably
presents incor-
rect
tooth
shape.
Check there are
no
mechanical
faults
on
the
teeth of the gear
wheel fitted to
the engine drive
shaft.
