When entering/exiting the vehicle

Pull the seatback angle adjustment
lever or to tilt the seatback for-
ward and then slide the seat forward.

Make sure that the second-row seat is free
of passengers and obstructions before
operating the seatback tilt lever.

After passengers have

Tilt back and slide the second-row seat
until it locks in position.

Remove the secured seat belts from the
seat belt hangers.

Press and hold the

switch until the seatback is fully upright.

A buzzer will sound twice before the oper-
ation begins and twice when the operation
is complete.
If the switch is released while the seatback
is operating, the seatback will stop and a
buzzer will sound continuously.
Remove the secured seat belts from the
seat belt hangers.

The third-row seats can be folded when

The back door is open. (When using the

switches in the luggage compartment)

A seat side switch and switch in the lug-

gage compartment are not being oper-

ated simultaneously.

Precautions for third-row seats

If a seat cover or seat cushion is used on a

seat, the seat may not operate properly.

Before folding the seatback of a seat, make

sure that the seat and area around the seat

is free of obstructions which may interfere

the operation.

If a buzzer sounds continuously after a

third-row seat seatback is completely

folded

The power seat system may be malfunction-

ing or it may need to be initialized. To initial-

ize the system, perform the following

procedure. (It is necessary to perform this

procedure with two people.)

Check that the seat is free of obstruc-

tions.

Press and hold the

side switch of

the luggage compartment side switch

for the seat which the buzzer is sound-

ing.

Within 10 seconds of the performing
the above step, press the

side

switch of the seat side switch 5 times.

When a buzzer sounds 3 times, release

the luggage compartment side switch.

Press the

side switch of the seat

side switch until the seatback is folded

completely.

A buzzer will sound twice when the opera-

tion is complete.
If the buzzer does not stop sounding even

though the above procedure has been per-

formed, have the vehicle inspected by your

Lexus dealer.

WARNING

Precautions for third-row seat

When operating a third-row seat, make

sure to press and hold the switch until the

third-row seat seatback is completely

folded/upright. Do not use a third-row

seat in a position other than the com-

pletely upright position, as doing so may

lead to death or serious injury in an acci-

dent. (If the switch is released while the

seatback is still moving, a buzzer will

sound continuously until the seatback is

completely folded/upright.)

NOTICE

Before returning the third-row seat

seatbacks to the upright position

If the luggage cover is installed in the lug-

gage compartment, make sure to

remove it before returning the third-row

seat seatbacks. (

P.325) Otherwise,

the luggage cover may be damaged.

The seat and steering wheel are auto-
matically adjusted to allow the driver to
enter and exit the vehicle easily.
When all of the following have been
performed, the seat and steering
wheel are automatically adjusted to a
position that allows driver to enter and
exit the vehicle easily.

• The shift lever has been shifted to P.
• The power switch has been turned

off.

• The driver’s seat belt has been

unfastened.

When any of the following has been
performed, the seat and steering
wheel automatically return to their
original positions.
• The power switch has been turned

to ACCESSORY mode or ON
mode.

• The driver’s seat belt has been fas-

tened.

Operation of the power easy access sys-

tem

When exiting the vehicle, the power easy

access system may not operate if the seat is

already close to the rearmost position, etc.

driving position cannot be canceled
properly.

If it button could not be canceled, the

buzzer sounds continuously for approxi-

Recall procedure

Make sure that the doors are
locked before recalling the driving
position. Carry the electronic key
that has been registered to the driv-
ing position, and then unlock and
open the driver’s door using the
smart access system with push-but-
ton start or wireless remote control.

The driving position will move to the

recorded position (not including the steer-

ing wheel and head-up display [if

equipped]). However, the seat will move to

a position slightly behind the recorded

position in order to make entering the vehi-

cle easier.
If the driving position is in a position that

has already been recorded, the seat and

outside rear view mirrors will not move.

Turn the power switch to ACCES-
SORY mode or ON mode, or fas-
ten a seat belt.

The seat, steering wheel and head-up dis-

play (if equipped) will move to the

recorded position.

Recalling the driving position using the

memory recall function

Different driving positions can be regis-

tered for each electronic key. Therefore,

the driving position that is recalled may

be different depending on the key being

carried.

If a door other than the driver’s door is

unlocked with the smart access system

with push-button start, the driving posi-

tion cannot be recalled. In this case, press

the driving position button which has

been set.

If the head restraint is pulled forward from
the foremost position, it will return to the
rearmost position.

Adjust the height of the rear view mir-
ror by moving it up and down.

Responding to the level of brightness
of the headlights of vehicles behind, the
reflected light is automatically
reduced.
Turn the automatic anti-glare function
mode on/off

When the automatic anti-glare function is
in ON mode, the indicator

illuminates.

The function will set to ON mode each
time the power switch is turned to ON

Linked mirror function when reversing

When either “L” or “R” of the mirror select

switch is selected, the outside rear view mir-

rors will automatically angle downwards

when the vehicle is reversing in order to

give a better view of the ground.
To disable this function, select neither “L”

To set the mirror angle used when the vehi-

cle is reversing, adjust the mirror angle at a

desired position with the shift lever in R.
The adjusted angle will be memorized and

the mirror will automatically tilt to the mem-

orized angle whenever the shift lever is

shifted to R from next time.
The memorized downward tilt position of

the mirror is linked to the normal position

(angle adjusted with the shift lever in other

than R). Therefore, if the normal position is

changed after adjustment, the tilt position

will also change.
When the normal position is changed, read-

just the angle in reversing.

Push the mirror back in the direction of
the vehicle’s rear.

Using the switch

Press the switch to fold the mirrors.

Press it again to extend them to the original
position.

Setting automatic mode

Automatic mode allows the folding or
extending of the mirrors to be linked to
locking/unlocking of the doors.
Press the “AUTO” switch to set auto-
matic mode.

The indicator

will come on.

Pressing the switch once more will return
to manual mode.

When disconnecting and reconnecting

12-volt battery terminals (power type)

The automatic folding/extending mirror

function will return to off as default. To turn

the function on, press the switch again to

select on.

Using automatic mode in cold weather

(if equipped)

When automatic mode is used in cold

weather, the door mirror could freeze up

and automatic stowing and return may not

be possible. In this case, remove any ice and

approximately 45 seconds even after the

power switch is turned to ACCESSORY

mode or turned off. They cannot, however,

be operated once either front door is

Jam protection function

If an object becomes jammed between the

window and the window frame while the

window is closing, window movement is

stopped and the window is opened slightly.

Catch protection function

If an object becomes caught between the

door and window while the window is open-

ing, window movement is stopped.

When the window cannot be opened or

closed

When the jam protection function or catch

protection function operates unusually and

the door window cannot be opened or

closed, perform the following operations

with the power window switch of that door.

Stop the vehicle. With the power switch in

ON mode, within 4 seconds of the jam

protection function or catch protection

function activating, continuously operate

the power window switch in the

one-touch closing direction or one-touch

opening direction so that the door win-

dow can be opened and closed.

If the door window cannot be opened

and closed even when performing the

above operations, perform the following

procedure for function initialization.

Turn the power switch to ON mode.

2

Pull and hold the power window switch

in the one-touch closing direction and

completely close the door window.

3

Release the power window switch for a

moment, resume pulling the switch in

the one-touch closing direction, and

hold it there for approximately 6 sec-

onds or more.

4

Press and hold the power window

switch in the one-touch opening direc-

tion. After the door window is com-

pletely opened, continue holding the

switch for an additional 1 second or

more.

5

Release the power window switch for a

moment, resume pushing the switch in

the one-touch opening direction, and

hold it there for approximately 4 sec-

onds or more.

6

Pull and hold the power window switch

in the one-touch closing direction

again. After the door window is com-

pletely closed, continue holding the

switch for a further 1 second or more.

If you release the switch while the window is

moving, start again from the beginning.

closed or opened, have the vehicle

Power windows open warning buzzer

A buzzer sounds and a message is shown

on the multi-information display in the

instrument cluster when the power switch is

turned off and the driver’s door is opened

with the power windows open. However, if

the window close suggestion function is on,

this buzzer will not operate.

Failing to do so may result in death or

Closing the windows

The driver is responsible for all the

power window operations, including

the operation for the passengers. In

order to prevent accidental operation,

especially by a child, do not let a child

operate the power windows. It is possi-

ble for children and other passengers

to have body parts caught in the power

window. Also, when riding with a child,

it is recommended to use the window

lock switch. (

P.153)

Check to make sure that all passen-

gers do not have any part of their body

in a position where it could be caught

when a window is being operated.

When using the wireless remote con-

trol or mechanical key and operating

the power windows, operate the

power window after checking to make

sure that there is no possibility of any

passenger having any of their body

parts caught in the window. Also do

not let a child operate window by the

wireless remote control or mechanical

key. It is possible for children and other

passengers to get caught in the power

window.

When exiting the vehicle, turn the

power switch off, carry the key and exit

the vehicle along with the child. There

may be accidental operation, due to

mischief, etc., that may possibly lead to

an accident.

Jam protection function

Never use any part of your body to

intentionally activate the jam protec-

tion function.

The jam protection function may not

work if something gets jammed just

before the window is fully closed. Be

careful not to get any part of your body

jammed in the window.

Catch protection function

Never use any part of your body or

clothing to intentionally activate the

catch protection function.

children from accidentally opening or
closing a passenger window.
Press the switch.

The indicator

will come on and the pas-

senger windows will be locked.
The passenger windows can still be
opened and closed using the driver’s
switch even if the lock switch is on.

When the 12-volt battery is discon-
