HINT:
When DTC ”34” is displayed, check the right front speed sensor circuit.
When DTC ”35” is displayed, check the right rear speed sensor circuit.

Check voltage between terminals RRO and FRO of absorber control ECU con-
nector and body ground.
PREPARATION:
(a)
Remove the No.1 lower panel (See page
).
(b)
Start the engine.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminals RRO and FRO of absorber
control ECU connector and body ground while driving.
OK:
Voltage: 1.5 – 8 V
OK
Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on
problem symptoms table (See page

Repair or replace harness, connector, speed
sensor or rotor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Check voltage between terminals SS1 and SS2 of absorber control ECU connec-
tor and body ground.
PREPARATION:
(a)
Remove the No.1 lower panel (See page
).
(b)
Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminals SS1 and SS2 of absorber
control ECU connector and body ground when steering wheel
is turned slowly.
OK:
Changes between 1 V and approx. 3.5 V
OK
Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on
problem symptoms table (See page

Check voltage between terminals 1 and 2 of steering sensor connector.
PREPARATION:
(a)
Remove the steering wheel lower No.2 and No.3 covers,
steering wheel pad, steering wheel column upper and
lower covers (See page
).
(b)
Disconnect the steering sensor connector.
(c)
Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminals 1 and 2 of steering sensor
connector.
OK:
Voltage: 10 – 14 V
NG
Check and repair harness and connectors be-
tween battery and steering sensor.
OK

Check steering sensor.
PREPARATION:
Apply battery positive voltage between terminals 1 and 2.
CHECK:
Measure the resistance between the terminal 2 and terminals
7 and 8 of steering sensor connector when the rotating part of
steering sensor is turned slowly.
OK:
Changes between 0
Ω
and
∞
Ω
NG
Replace steering sensor.
OK

Check harness and connectors between absorber control ECU and steering sen-
sor (See page
).
