Note
• When inspecting more than two DTCs, perform the inspection by following the priority order of inspection
indicated in the chart below.

Unfasten driver-side seat belt.
(Buckle switch on.)
Go to next step.
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 2G.
Is voltage 0 V?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Buckle switch
— Wiring harness (Buckle switch—instrument
cluster)

Fasten driver-side seat belt. (Buckle
switch off.)
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 2G.
Is voltage B+?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Buckle switch
— Wiring harness (Buckle switch—instrument
cluster)
Input signal to instrument cluster is okay.

Door switch on/off signal

Open driver-side door. (Door switch
on.)
Close driver-side door, then go to next step.
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 1J.
Is voltage 0 V?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Door switch
— Wiring harness (Instrument cluster—door switch)

Open passenger-side door. (Door
switch on.)
Close passenger-side door, then go to next step.
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 1I.
Is voltage 0 V?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Door switch
— Wiring harness (Instrument cluster—door switch)

Open rear door on driver’s side.
(Door switch on.)
Close rear door on driver’s side, then go to next step.
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 1I.
Is voltage 0 V?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Door switch
— Wiring harness (Instrument cluster—door switch)

Open rear door on passenger’s
side. (Door switch on.)
Close rear door on passenger’s side, then go to next
step.
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 1I.
Is voltage 0 V?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Door switch
— Wiring harness (Instrument cluster—door switch)

Close all doors. (Door switch off.)
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminals 1I and
1J.
Is voltage B+?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— Door switch
— Wiring harness (Instrument cluster—door switch)
Input signals to instrument cluster are okay.
DTC 08
TNS relay on/off signal

Turn headlight switch to TNS
position. (TNS relay on.)
Go to next step.
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 2K.
Is voltage B+?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— TNS relay
— Wiring harness (Battery—TNS relay—instrument
cluster)

Turn headlight switch off. (TNS relay
off.)
Measure voltage at instrument cluster terminal 2K.
Is voltage 0 V?
• If as specified, replace instrument cluster.
• If not as specified, inspect following parts.
— TNS relay
— Wiring harness (TNS relay—instrument cluster)
Input signal to instrument cluster is okay.
DTC 12
Operation signal to speedometer
INSPECTION
INDICATION
SITUATION
ACTION
Wait for 2 seconds after selecting DTC 12.
Speedometer needle
moves full scale then
returns to 60 km/h or 60
MPH.
Speedometer is okay.
Other than stated above.
Replace instrument
cluster.
