Left Power Mirror Position Sensor
(Vertical):
Check for voltage between the mir-
ror control unit 16P connector B8
and B14 terminals. As the mirror
swings from left to right, voltage
changes from about 3 V to 1 V.
Are voltages as specified?
NO
• Open or short in the RED/BLK or
GRY wire
• Faulty left power mirror posi-
tion sensor
YES
Column Control Unit Operation:
Make sure that the steering col-
umn adjustment work manually.
Does it work properly?
NO
Go to column control unit flow-
charts No. 7 and No. 8 (see pages
23-218 to 219).

Seat Control Unit Operation:
Make sure that the power seat
adjustment work manually.

tion lines. Turn the ignition switch
OFF, and repair the communica-
tion lines.
NOTE: The column control unit and the seat control unit, and the column control unit and the mirror control unit are
connected by two communication lines. If one of these lines is open or shorted, the automatic adjustment still functions. If
both lines are open or short, the automatic adjustment stops functioning, and only the manual adjustment functions.

Power Seat Slide Switch:
Check for voltage between the
seat control unit 16P connector
B6 and B16 terminals with the
slide switch pushed forward.
Check for voltage between the
seat control unit 16P connector
B14 and B16 terminals with the
slide switch pushed backward.
There should be 1 V or less with
the switch pushed and 4 V or
more with the switch in the neu-
tral position.
Are voltages as specified?
NO
• Open or short in the wires
• Faulty slide switch
• Faulty seat control unit

Power Seat Slide Motor:
Disconnect the 2P connector from
the driver's power seat slide motor.
Check for voltage between the
driver's power seat slide motor 2P
connector No. 1 terminal and body
ground with the slide switch
pushed forward. Check for voltage
between the driver's power seat
slide motor 2P connector No. 2 ter-
minal and body ground with the
slide switch pushed backward.
There should be 10 V or more with
the switch pushed and O V with the
switch in the neutral position.
Are voltages as specified?
NO
• Open or short in the wires
• Faulty slide switch
• Faulty seat control unit
Test the driver's power seat slide

• Open or short in the YEL or LT
GRN wire between motor and
the 2P connector.
• Faulty slide motor
Does the motor run smoothly
and without noise?
Check for voltage between the
seat control unit 16P connector
B2 terminal and 12P connector A4
terminal while operating the slide
motor forward and backward.
NOTE: All DPMS connectors must
be connected.

B13 and B16 terminals with the
recline switch pushed backward.

the switch pushed and 4 V or more
with the switch in the neutral posi-
tion.

the driver's power seat recline
motor.
Check for voltage between the
driver's power seat recline motor
4P connector No. 3 terminal and
body ground with the recline
switch pushed forward. Check for
voltage between the driver's
power seat recline 4P connector
No. 4 terminal and body ground
with the recline switch pushed
backward. There should be 10 V
or more with the switch pushed
and 0 V with the switch in neutral
position.

• Open or short in the wires
• Faulty recline switch
• Faulty seat control unit
