25. Install the transmission crossmember. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember

26. Remove the transmission jack.

27. Install the rear propeller shaft. Refer to One-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement or Two-

Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement .

28. Connect the oil cooler lines to the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler

Hose/Pipe Replacement

29. Lower the vehicle.

30. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and

Connection (w/Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and
Connection (w/Auxiliary Battery)
or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and
Connection (w/Dual Batteries)

31. Fill the transmission to the proper level. Refer to Fluid Capacity Specifications .

32. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions (TCM) .

OFF-VEHICLE REPAIR INFORMATION

TORQUE CONVERTER REMOVAL AND HOLDING FIXTURE INSTALLATION
(6L80/6L90)

IMPORTANT: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP)

information be reset.
Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all
learned values in all cells. As a result, the engine control
module (ECM), powertrain control module (PCM), or
transmission control module (TCM) will need to relearn TAP
values. Transmission performance may be affected as new
TAP values are learned.

Tip:

1. Rotate the transmission so that the converter

housing is up and secure with locking pin.

2. Allow any remaining transmission fluid to drain

from the case extension.
