4. Organize or mark the components so they can be installed in the same location from which

they were removed. The active fuel management lifters (4) are installed into the guide by
aligning the notched area of the guide (1) with the raised surface on the side of the lifter (2).
Refer to Separating Parts .

OIL FILTER REMOVAL

1. Remove the oil filter (437).

2. Remove the oil filter fitting (438).

IMPORTANT:

The original oil pan gasket is retained and aligned to the
oil pan by rivets. When installing a new gasket, it is not
necessary to install new oil pan gasket rivets.
