FAULT: RATTLING OF THE BRAKES

Possible cause

Remedy

Loose brake shoes

Check brake shoe attachment

Loose brake lining on brake shoe

Check brake lining/lining rivets

Poorly machined brake linings, brake lining has
poor contact with brake drum

Check brake lining bearing pattern

Poor quality of brake linings

Check brake linings

Brake drums not or insufficiently reconditioned

Different or non-standard quality brake drums

Maximum grinding tolerance exceeded

FAULT: VEHICLE PULLS TO ONE SIDE DURING BRAKING
