CONT
ACT
CIRCUIT
If
accessories/ignition/starter
switch
C

is
turned
(contact
1
is
connected
to
pin
6),
the
“radio
accessories

supply”
relay
(G377)
will
be
energised.
V
oltage
is
now
applied
to
contact
1
of
relay
G377
through
fuse
E037,
wire
1100,
contacts
1-6
of
switch
C
539,
wire
1130.
When
G377
is
energised,
a
connection
is
made
between
contacts
3
and
5
of
G
377
and
a
voltage
is
switched
from
the
converter
to
the
radio.

If
the
ignition
switch
C539
is
turned
(contact
1
is
connected
to
4),
contact
relay
G015
will
be
activated
via
wire
4001.
If
the
ignition
sw

is
turned
to
the
“s

position,
a
contact
is
m
ade
in
this
switch
between
contacts
1
and
2.
The
power
is
now
supplied
from
the
batteries
through
fuse
E037,
the
connection
1-2
from
the
ignition/starter
switch
and
wire
4004
on
connection
point
B1
of
D979.
A
voltage
is
also
applied
to
connection
point
30
of
relay
G
185
through
wire
4004.
Relay
G
185
is
only
fitted
if
the
vehicle
is
equipped
with
AS
Tr
onic.
When
the
contact
is
switched
on
and
the
gearbox
is
in
neutral,
relay
G
185
will
be
energised.
The
voltage
is
now
applied
to
connection
point
85
of
relay
G
203
through
wire
4004,
contacts
30-87
of
relay
G
185,
contacts
3-5
of
relay
G372.
This
relay
is
energised,
thereby
connecting
connection
point
30
to
connection
point
87.
A
voltage
is
now
applied
to
connection
point
50
of
the
starter
motor
,through
fuse
E037,
wire
1100,
relay
contacts
30-87,
wire
4002,
causing
the
starter
m
otor
to
turn.
As
soon
as
the
m
otor
turns,
the
V
IC
applies
a
voltage
to
connection
point
C44.
The
voltage
is
then
applied
to
connection
point
1
of
relay
G372
via
w
ire
4202.
This
relay
is
energised,
breaking
the
starting
circuit.
If
the
vehicle
has
a
m
anual
gearbox,
w
ire
4004
is
directly
connected
to
point
3
of
relay
G372.
CHARGING
C
IRCUIT
If
the
contact
is
activated,
there
is
voltage
on
connection
15
of
the
alternator
.
An
internal
resistor
in
the
alternator
is
energised
by
an
IC
in
the
carbon
brush
holder
.
This
resistor
ensures
that
a
low
level
of
current
passes
through
the
energised
resistor
.
This
excites
a
magnetic
field
in
the
alternator
.
After
starting,
the
voltage
on
terminals
B
+
and
15
will
rise
to
about
28.5V
.O
nce
this
voltage
is
reached,
the
IC
in
the
regulator
interrupts
the
pre
--exciter
coil
to
enable
the
voltage
to
be
controlled.
The
m
agnetic
field
w
ill
now
disappear
,s
o
that
the
generator
will
not
be
energised
for
a
short
period
of
time.
As
a
result,
the
voltage
on
outputs
B
+
and
15
will
drop. The
regulator
reactivates
w
hen
the
voltage
drops
below
27.6V
.T
his
m
eans
that
the
voltage
supplied
by
the
generator
remains
relatively
constant.
T
he
batteries
are
supplied
through
the
B
+
generator
output.
The
alternator
charging
current
warning
in
the
DIP
is
activated
through
wire
1020,
which
is
connected
to
connection
point
D29
of
the
VIC
(D900).
T
he
VIC
controls
the
D
IP
via
the
CAN
network.
T
he
voltage
on
wire
1020
is
switched
by
the
control
IC.
The
alternator
is
also
equipped
with
a
“sens”
line.
This
connection
continuously
measures
the
voltage
on
connection
point
30
of
the
starter
motor
.If
the
voltage
on
connection
point
30
drops,
it
is
immediately
corrected
by
the
control
IC.
The
alternator
will
increase
the
voltage
until
a
value
of
28.5V
is
reached
again.
