10. Remove the B-pillar upper trim (see page 20-65).
11. Remove the shoulder anchor adjuster (A).
12. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal,
and note these items:
• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to
the anchor bolts before reinstallation.
• Check that the retractor locking mechanism
functions (see page 24-12).
• Assemble the washers, collars, and bushings on
the upper and lower anchor bolts as shown.
• If the seat belt tensioner has been deployed,
replace the seat belt protector with a new one.
• Before installing the anchor bolts, make sure
there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
• Make sure the seat belt tensioner connector is
plugged in properly.
• Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
• Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system
and the navigation system (if equipped).
• Set the clock (on vehicles without navigation).
• Do the power window control unit reset
procedure (see page 22-209).

NOTE:
• Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat
covers.
• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• DTC codes will set if the ignition is turned ON (II) with
the seats removed.
1. Remove the front seat (see page 20-97).
2. Remove the center cover (see page 20-99).
3. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the
audio system and the navigation system (if
equipped).
4. Disconnect the seat belt switch connector (A), and
detach it, and detach the harness clip (B) and
harness band (C).
5. Remove the anchor bolt (A), and detach the
harness clip (B), then remove the seat belt buckle
(C).

6. Pull the seat belt switch harness (D) out through the
space between the seat cushion and the seat
linkage, or through the hole in the seat track.
7. Install the buckle in the reverse order of removal,
and note these items:
• Assemble the washers and bushing on the center
anchor bolt as shown.
• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to
the center anchor bolt before reinstallation.
• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to
the seat mounting bolts before reinstallation.
• Tighten the bolt by hand first, then tighten to
specification with a torque wrench.
• Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
• Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system
and the navigation system (if equipped).
• Set the clock (on vehicle without navigation).
• Perform the power window control unit reset
procedure (see page 22-209).
NOTE: Check the rear seat belts for damage, and
replace them if necessary.
1. Remove the rear seat assembly (see page 20-117).
2. Pull the lower anchor cover (A) back, and remove
the lower anchor bolt (B).
3. Remove the upper anchor cap (A), and remove the
upper anchor bolt (B).

4. Remove these items:
• C-pillar trim (see page 20-68)
• Rear seat side trim (see step 9 on page 20-62)
5. Remove the retractor bolt (A), and lift up on the
retractor (B) to release the hook (C), then remove
the rear seat belt (D) and toothed lock washer (E).
6. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal,
and note these items:
• Assemble the washers, collars, and bushings on
the upper and lower anchor bolts as shown.
• Check that the retractor locking mechanism
functions as described (see page 24-12).
• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to
the anchor bolts before reinstallation.
• Before installing the anchor bolts, make sure
there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
