5. Remove the clips (A). Detach the clips (B) and
hooks (C) by carefully pulling the driver’s cowl
cover (D) upward. Pull the cover forward to release
the hooks (E), and pull the hinge cover (F) out from
the front fender (G) and windshield molding (H).
6. If necessary, using a trim tool, detach the clips (I),
then remove the hood rear seal (J) from the driver’s
cowl cover.
7. Install the covers in the reverse order of removal,
and note these items:
• Check if the clips are damaged or stress-
whitened, and if necessary, replace them with
new ones.
• Push the clips into place securely.
• Make sure the washer tubes are connected
securely.

NOTE:
• Take care not to scratch the body.
• Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to
avoid damage when prying components.
• The steel core in the roof molding cannot be restored
to its original shape once it is bent. Replace the roof
molding when the steel core is bent.
1. Using a trim tool and a shop towel on the body,
starting at the front, detach the clips by prying up
the roof molding (A), and release the molding from
under the rear roof trim (B).

2. Using a trim tool (A) and the pliers (B), remove the
clips from the body.
3. Replace any damaged clips.
4. Install the clips to the body. The clip should be
installed with its hook toward the rear.
5. Insert the rear end of the roof molding (A) under
the rear roof trim (B), and align the front edge of the
molding with the body, then push on the clips (C)
portions until the molding snap into place.

NOTE:
• Take care not to scratch the body.
• Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to
avoid damage when prying components.
1. Using a trim tool, pry the caps (A) up to detach the
hooks (B), then remove them, and remove the nuts
securing the rear roof trim (C).
2. Using a trim tool, carefully pry up the on rear roof
trim (A) along three front clips (B) to release them
from the grommets (C). Start with the left front clip,
and work your way to the right clip.
3. Place your hand under the rear roof trim and lift to
release the four remaining clips from the
grommets.

4. Using a trim tool (A), detach the hooks (B) of the
rear roof trim (C) from the C-pillar outer trim (D) on
both sides while pulling out the rear roof trim.
5. Remove the connector grommets (A) from the body,
and then disconnect the antenna connector (B) and
high mount brake light connector (C), then remove
the rear roof trim (D).
6. Remove the clips from the rear roof trim, and
remove the grommets from the body. Replace the
clips and grommets with new ones.
7. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and
note these items:
• Check if the clips are damaged or stress-
whitened, and if necessary, replace them with
new ones.
• Make sure the antenna connector and high
mount brake light connector are plugged in
properly.
• Make sure the each connector grommet is
installed securely.
• Push the clips into place securely.
• Make sure the clips are set securely and the nuts
tightened.

NOTE: When using dental floss to cut the emblem adhesive, take care not to scratch the body.
1. To remove the front ‘‘H’’ emblem, remove the front bumper mesh (see page 20-172).
2. Clean the bonding surface with a sponge dampened in isopropyl alcohol. After cleaning, keep oil, grease, and
water from getting on the surface.
3. Apply the emblems where shown.
