13.Check that the boot band is not sticking out past
the place where it has been installed. If the boot
band is sticking out, remove it and then repeat
steps 9 to 12, using a new boot band.
BJ BOOT (RESIN BOOT) REPLACEMENT

1. Cut the boot bands (large and small).
NOTE: The boot bands cannot be re-used.
2. Replace the BJ boot.

End pliers
3. Using the end pliers, tighten the boot band.

WHEEL BEARING AXIAL PLAY CHECK

Bolts
(M8×1.25)
1. For vehicles with rear drum brake, remove the
brake drum. If the brake drum is seized, install M8
× 1.25 bolts as shown, and remove the drum by
tightening the bolts evenly and gradually.

2. For vehicles with rear disc brake, remove the
caliper assembly, and suspend the caliper
assembly with a wire and remove the brake disc.
If the brake disc is seized, install M8
× 1.25 bolts
as shown, and remove the disc by tightening the
bolts evenly and gradually. <4A9>

3. Check the bearing's axial play. Place a dial gauge
against the hub surface; then move the hub in the
axial direction and check whether or not there is
axial play.
Limit: 0.05 mm
4. If the play exceeds the limit, replace the rear hub
assembly.
