SIDE DOOR BEAM
Safety against side collision has been enhanced by
using two side door beams for each door.
DOOR PANEL
To improve the appearance of the door sash, hem-
ming is used instead of conventional spot welding at
the junctures between the inner and outer parts of
the door panel of the door sash.

DOOR OPENING WEATHERSTRIP
For an improved sound transmission rating and bet-
ter soundproofing, two-ply construction is used for
the weatherstrip, with opening weatherstrips on the
door and body.

The center door lock enables locking and unlock-
ing of all doors by using the key cylinder at the
driver's side door, the driver's side door lock
switch, or passenger's side door lock switch.
Locking and unlocking is controlled by the
ETACS-ECU. For further details on the door lock-
ing and unlocking controls, refer to GROUP 54B,

As an added safety measure, the doors have an
inside lock cable to prevent the door from locking
by an impact.

The door lock prevention function by
ETACS-ECU control when the ignition key is left
in the switch is used (Refer to GROUP 54B, Sim-
