NUT INSTALLATION

Ensure that the crossmember mounting bolts have been tight-
ened to 100

± 10 N⋅m (74 ± 7 ft-lb), and then install the cross-

member stay with the crossmember nut.

• Check all bolts for condition and straightness.

WARNINGS REGARDING SERVICING OF SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) EQUIPPED VEHICLES

WARNING

Improper service or mainten an ce o f an y co mpo nent of the SRS, or any SRS-related comp onent, can lead to

person al in jury or d eath to service perso nnel (fro m inadverten t firing o f the air bag) or to the driver and
passen ger (from rend ering the SRS ino perative).

Service or main tenance of any SRS component o r SRS-related comp onent must be performed o nly at an
authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.

MITSUBISHI d ealer personnel must thorou ghly review this manu al, and especially its GROUP 52B - Supplemental
Restraint System (SRS) befo re begin ning any service or maintenance of any component of the SR S or any

SRS-related comp onent.

NOTE

The SR S includes the following components: SRS air bag control unit, SRS warning light, front impac t sensors, air bag module,
clock spring, and interconnec ting w iring. Other SRS-related components (that may hav e to be removed/ins talled in connection

with SRS s ervic e or maintenanc e) are indic ated in the table of contents by an as teris k (*).
