NOTE: The ASTC-ECU is integrated in the hydraulic unit.
Pre-removal Operation

REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

GRATED WITH ASTC-ECU) REMOVAL
WARNING
The hydraulic unit is heavy. Use care when
removing it.
CAUTION
• The hydraulic unit cannot be disassembled.
Never loosen its nuts or bolts.
• Do not drop or shock the hydraulic unit.
• Do not turn the hydraulic unit upside down or
lay it on its side.

Connect the pipes to the hydraulic unit assembly as
shown in the illustration.
1. From the master cylinder (primary)
2. To the front brake (LH)
3. To the rear brake (RH)

6. From the master cylinder (secondary)

CAUTION
• Do not drop or shock the G and yaw rate sensor.
• Always carry out calibration (Refer to
) if G and yaw rate sensor is replaced. This is nec-
essary because the ASTC-ECU should update the G and yaw late sensor neutral point.

WARNING
Before removing the steering wheel and air bag module assembly, refer to GROUP 52B, Serv-
ice Precautions and Air Bag Module and Clock Spring .
CAUTION
• Because the steering wheel sensor may be damaged, be sure to align the centre of the clock
spring before installing the steering wheel sensor.
• If the centre of the clock spring is not correctly aligned, the steering wheel may not be turned fully
or the cable inside the clock spring may be broken, causing the SRS air bag to be inoperative or
operated incorrectly.
• When the steering wheel sensor is replaced or installed, always carry out calibration to make
ASC-ECU learn the neutral point (Refer to
Pre-removal and Post-installation Operation
Steering Wheel and Air Bag Module Assembly Removal and
Installation (Refer to GROUP 37

ahead position.

CAUTION
After removing the steering wheel sensor, do not
rotate the sensor rotating part.
