Go to Step 8.

NO :

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 7. Check the wiring harness between the
audio amplifier connector terminal and the
multivision display connector terminal.

Check the communication lines for open circuit and
short circuit.

• <Front door speaker (LH)> Check the wire har-

ness between C-170 multivision display connec-
tor terminal No.12, 3 and D-30 audio amplifier
connector terminal No.29, 38.

NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check

intermediate connector C-15, and repair if neces-

sary.

• <Front door speaker (RH)> Check the wire har-

ness between C-170 multivision display connec-
tor terminal No.15, 7 and D-30 audio amplifier
connector terminal No.28, 37.

NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check

intermediate connector C-15, and repair if neces-
sary.

• <Rear door speaker (LH)> Check the wire har-

ness between C-170 multivision display connec-
tor terminal No.11, 2 and D-30 audio amplifier
connector terminal No.21, 30.

NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check

intermediate connector C-59, and repair if neces-
sary.

• <Rear door speaker (RH)> Check the wire har-

ness between C-170 multivision display connec-
tor terminal No.16, 8 and D-30 audio amplifier
connector terminal No.22, 31.

NOTE: Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check

intermediate connector C-59, and repair if neces-
sary.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 8.

NO :

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Retest the system
Check if the sound is output from all the speakers.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

The trouble can be an intermittent

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00

NO :

Go to Step 9.

STEP 9. Retest the system
Temporarily replace the multivision display, and
check if the sound is output from all the speakers.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Replace the multivision display.

NO :

Replace the audio amplifier.

Inspection Procedure 4: The navigation system can be operated while the vehicle is driven.

CAUTION

Before replacing the multivision display, ensure
that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit,
and the communication circuit are normal.
(Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
There is a failure in the wiring harness between the
vehicles speed sensor and the multivision display,
the respective connector(s), the vehicles speed sen-
sor or the multivision display.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunctions of vehicles speed sensor

• Malfunctions of multivision display

• Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Perform "Vehicle Signal Check" in the
MMCS service mode.
Perform "Vehicle Signal Check" in the MMCS service
mode to check whether vehicle speed signal is nor-
mal. (Refer to

P.54A-305

.)

Q: Is the vehicle speed signal transmitted normally?

YES :

Replace the multivision display.

NO :

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the speedometer.
Check whether the speedometer works nor-
mally.(Refer to

P.54A-87

.)

STEP 3. Connector check: C-127 joint connector,
C-170 multivision display connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 4.

NO :

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between C-127
joint connector terminal No.17 and C-170
multivision display connector terminal No.13.

• Check the communication line for open circuit

and short circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Go to Step 5.

NO :

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Substitute a known good multivision
display, and check the trouble symptom.
Check that no menus are active during driving.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES :

Replace the multivision display.

NO :

Replace the combination meter.
