9. Closing the manual.
To close the manual, place the mouse pointer on ‘File’ in the Acrobat Reader Menu at the
top of the screen and click the left mouse button once.

FOREWARD
In order to to simplify inspection and repair to the
electrical wiring of the Lancer Evolution VIII, this
manual presents the electrical wiring and vehicle
connector components in 3-dimensional format. It also
contains circuit diagrams which describe the various
types of wiring for each system, as well as information
on individual component installations.
Please refer to the information contained in this manual
before carrying out inspection of or repair to any of the
electrical equipment.
Please note that the harness configuration diagrams
and circuit diagrams are classified into different types
and may not conform to the specifications of individual
vehicles.
Please note that this manual has been compiled on the
basis of vehicles available in January 2003. As vehicle
specifications are constantly being updated, the
contents may not be consistent with any future vehicles.
The units used in this manual conform to the
international SI system. Please note that no additional
previous units are included.

1. Inspection and servicing of failed components and related parts of seat belts with SRS airbag pretensioners may be
a cause of major damage to these systems resulting in sudden operation (misdeployment) of seat belts with SRS
airbag pretensioners or their complete incapacity to operate.
2. Should the system suffer as a result of heat during painting work, the SRS-ECU, airbag module (driver and
passenger seats), clock spring, and seat belts with pretensioners should be removed.
• Temperature over 93
°
C: SRS-ECU, airbag module (driver and passenger seats), and clock spring
• Temperature over 90
°
C: seat belts with pretensioners
3. Inspection and servicing of components and related parts of seat belts with SRS airbag pretensioners should
always be carried out by Mitsubishi Motor Corporation Sales Companies
4. Inspection and servicing of components and related parts of seat belts with SRS airbag pretensioners should be
carried out only after this manual has been consulted. (particularly Group 52B – SRS airbag).
