TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Right I/P Speaker harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Right I/P Speaker (+) circuit.
Is the resistance above 1000 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Right I/P Speaker in accordance with the service
information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 9

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Center I/P Speaker harness connector.
Disconnect the Right I/P Speaker harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Right I/P Speaker (+) circuit.
Is the resistance above 1000 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Center I/P Speaker in accordance with the service
information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Right I/P Speaker (+) circuit for a short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Left Front Door Speaker harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and both Left Front Door Speaker circuits.
Is the resistance below 1000 ohms for either measurement?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Speaker circuit that measure below 1000 ohms for a
short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Left Front Door Speaker in accordance with the
service information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Right Front Door Speaker harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and both Right Front Door Speaker circuits.
Is the resistance below 1000 ohms for either measurement?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Speaker circuit that measure below 1000 ohms for a
short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Right Front Door Speaker in accordance with the
service information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Set Condition:
When the Left Front Door Speaker and Left Rear Speaker circuits are
simultaneously shorted.

NOTE: The fault condition must be present to continue diagnosis. Use the
DRBIII
t to perform the Amplifier pretest to verify the fault condition is
present before continuing diagnosis.
NOTE: Amplifier speaker circuits are both shorted simultaneously.
Turn the ignition off.
Access and disconnect the Left Front Door and Left Rear Speaker harness connec-
tors.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, perform the Amplifier pretest.
Is the fault condition still present?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Replace the Left Front Door and Left Rear Speakers in accor-
dance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Access and disconnect the Left Front Door Speaker harness connector.
Access and disconnect the Left Rear Speaker harness connector.
Access and disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Left Front Door Speaker (+) and (-) circuits.
Measure the resistance of the Left Rear Speaker (+) and (-) circuits.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms on each measurement?
All
Yes
→ Repair both Speaker (+) and (-) circuits for a short together.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Access and disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Left Front Door Speaker (+) and (-) circuits.
Measure the resistance of the Right Rear Speaker (+) and (-) circuits.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms on each measurement?
All
Yes
→ Repair both Speaker (+) and (-) circuits for a short together.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Replace the Left Front Door Speaker in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Access and disconnect the Left Front Door Speaker harness connector.
Access and disconnect the Amplifier C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Left Front Woofer harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Left Front Door Speaker (+) and (-) circuits.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Left Front Door Speaker (+) and (-) circuits for a short
together.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
