5 VOLT UNDER VOLTAGE (CONTINUED)

SHIFT MOTOR/MODE SENSOR ASSEMBLY
Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the Shift Motor/Mode Sensor C2 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (T313) 5 Volt Mode Sensor Supply circuit.
Is the voltage above 4.0 volts?
Yes
>> Replace the Shift Motor/Mode Sensor assembly in accor-
dance with the Service Information.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer
to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/TRANSFER CASE
- DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Go To 4
4.
(T313) 5 VOLT MODE SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the Transfer Case Control Module C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (T313) 5 Volt Mode Sensor Supply cir-
cuit between the Shift Motor/Mode Sensor harness connector and the
Transfer Case Control Module C2 harness connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes
>> Repair the (T313) 5 Volt Mode Sensor Supply circuit for an
open or high resistance.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer
to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/TRANSFER CASE
- DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Go To 5

(T313) 5 VOLT MODE SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Measure the resistance between the (T313) 5 Volt Mode Sensor Sup-
ply circuit and ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
>> Repair the (T313) 5 Volt Mode Sensor Supply circuit for a
short to ground.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer
to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/TRANSFER CASE
- DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Go To 10
6.
(T322) 5 VOLT SELECTOR SWITCH SUPPLY CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW 4.0 VOLTS
Measure the voltage of the (T322) 5 Volt Selector Switch Supply circuit
by backprobing the Transfer Case Selector Switch harness connector.
Is the voltage below 4.0 volts?
Yes
>> Go To 7
No
>> Go To 10

TRANSFER CASE SELECTOR SWITCH
Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the Transfer Case Selector Switch harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (T322) 5 Volt Selector Switch Supply cir-
cuit.
Is the voltage above 4.0 volts?
Yes
>> Replace the Transfer Case Selector Switch in accordance
with the Service Information.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer
to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/TRANSFER CASE
- DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Go To 8
8.
(T322) 5 VOLT SELECTOR SWITCH SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the Transfer Case Control Module C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (T322) 5 Volt Selector Switch Supply
circuit between the Transfer Case Selector Switch harness connector
and the Transfer Case Control Module C2 harness connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes
>> Repair the (T322) 5 Volt Selector Switch Supply circuit for
an open or high resistance.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer
to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/TRANSFER CASE
- DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Go To 9

(T322) 5 VOLT SELECTOR SWITCH SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Measure the resistance between the (T322) 5 Volt Selector Switch
Supply circuit and ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
>> Repair the (T322) 5 Volt Selector Switch Supply circuit for
a short to ground.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer
to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/TRANSFER CASE
- DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Go To 10
10.
TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE
Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors relative to this DTC. Inspect all power and
ground circuits. Repair as necessary.
If there are no other possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
Replace the Transfer Case Control Module.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/
TRANSFER CASE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
11.
INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS
The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
Wiggle test the wiring harness and connectors while checking for shorted and open circuits.
Using the DRBIII
T
, monitor the data related to this circuit while performing the wiggle test. Look for the data to
change or for the DTC to reset.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
>> Repair as necessary.
Perform TRANSFER CASE VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 21 - TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE/
TRANSFER CASE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Test Complete.
