When Monitored:
With the ignition on and the Starter command off.
•
Set Condition:
The ECM does not detect voltage on the (T752) Engine Starter Control circuit for 0.5 seconds.
Possible Causes
INTERMITTENT DTC
(T752) STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(T752) STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE -
DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
Diagnostic Test
1.
DTC IS ACTIVE
Ignition on, engine not running.
With the scan tool, Clear DTCs in the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Attempt to start the engine several times.
Monitor the scan tool for at least two minutes.
With the scan tool, select View DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
>> Go To 2
No
>> Refer to the *CHECKING FOR AN INTERMITTENT DTC Diagnostic Procedure. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE -
DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)

(T752) STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TIPM C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Engine Control Module (ECM) harness connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (T752) Starter Control
circuit in the TIPM C2 harness connector.
Is the resistance above 10k ohms?
Yes
>> Go to 3
No
>> Repair the (T752) Starter Control circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform the ECM Verification Test Ver. 1. (Refer to 9 -
ENGINE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)

3.
(T752) STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
Measure the resistance of the (T752) Starter Control circuit between the
TIPM C2 harness connector and the ECM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?
Yes
>> Replace and program the TIPM in accordance with the Ser-
vice Information.
Perform the ECM Verification Test Ver. 1. (Refer to 9 -
ENGINE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
>> Repair the (T752) Starter Control circuit for an open circuit
or high resistance.

Diagnostic Test
1.
DTC IS ACTIVE
Ignition on, engine not running.

(T752) STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TIPM C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Engine Control Module (ECM) harness connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (T752) Starter Control
circuit in the TIPM harness connector.
Is the resistance above 10k ohms?
Yes
>> Go to 3
No
>> Repair the (T752) Starter Control circuit for a short to
ground.
