5. Connect coolant hose (3) to oil cooler (1).
6. Fill cooling system.

1. Using a suitable oil filter wrench, unscrew filter (2) from base and discard.

1. Wipe base clean, then inspect gasket contact surface.
2. Lubricate gasket of new filter (2) with clean engine oil.
3. Install and tighten filter to 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.) of torque after gasket contacts base. Use filter wrench if
necessary.
4. Start engine and check for leaks.

NOTE:
When servicing the oil filter, avoid deforming the filter can. Install the
remove/install tool band strap against the base lock seam. The lock seam
joining the can to the base is reinforced by the base plate.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove engine oil indicator.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Drain engine oil and remove the oil filter (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE ).
5. Remove the oil filter, oil cooler mounting stud and set oil cooler aside (Refer to REMOVAL ).
6. Remove the flex plate access cover (1).
