TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, read BCM DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display TIRE PRESSURE LOW?
All
Yes
→ Check and adjust tire pressure.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
No
→ Go To 2
2
Turn the ignition off.
Visually inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or
partially broken wires.
Visually inspect the related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed
out, or corroded terminals.
Refer to any Hotline letters or Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
All
Yes
→ Repair as necessary.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
No
→ Test Complete.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING
Symptom:
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE - TPM
When Monitored and Set Condition:
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE - TPM
When Monitored:
Ignition ON. Vehicles speed over 33Km/h (20 mph). Every 60-68
seconds.
Set Condition:
When the TPM Module does not receive a transmission from one or more
Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters while the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit returns to
low for more then three seconds. (Receiver failure in TPM Module and TPM Diagnostic
fault in BCM.)
POSSIBLE CAUSES
NO TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTERS
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTER NOT PROGRAMMED
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE
TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition off.
Inspect all four vehicle wheels for the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters being
present using the Miller tool 9001 RF detector.
Do all wheels have Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters transmitting?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Replace and program the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter in
accordance with the Service Information.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
2
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t and special tool 8192, program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module
for all four Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters.
Without the DRBIII
t connected, road test the vehicle above 33 Km/h (20 mph) for at
least ten minutes.
With the DRBIII
t, read the last 32 transmissions received by the Tire Pressure
Monitor Module.
Does the DRBIII
t display any of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter ID’s in the
last 32 transmissio
All
Yes
→ Repair is complete.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
No
→ Replace and program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module in
accordance with the Service Information.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.

Symptom:
TPM DIAGNOSTIC - BCM
When Monitored and Set Condition:
TPM DIAGNOSTIC - BCM
When Monitored:
Ignition ON and Start positions.
Set Condition:
When the BCM input from the TPM Module goes Low for more then 3
seconds after initialization.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
INTERMITTENT CONDITION
FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN/START) CIRCUIT OPEN
GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
TPM MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE
BCM INTERNAL FAILURE
TEST
ACTION
APPLICABILITY
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII
t, read BCM and TPM Module DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display TPM DIAGNOSTIC?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Go To 8
2
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TPM Module harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit in the
TPM Module connector.
Is the voltage above 10 volts?
All
Yes
→ Go To 3
No
→ Repair the Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit for
an open.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
