< COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS >
TILT SWITCH
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 3.
NO
>> Repair or replace harness.
3.
CHECK AUTOMATIC DRIVE POSITIONER CONTROL UNIT OUTPUT
1.
Connect automatic drive positioner control unit connector.
2.
Turn ignition switch ON.
3.
Check voltage between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 4.
NO
>> Replace automatic drive positioner control unit.
4.
CHECK TILT SWITCH
ADP-82, "Component Inspection"
.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 5.
NO
>> Replace tilt & telescopic switch.
5.
CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
GI-38, "Intermittent Incident"
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Replace automatic drive positioner control unit.
NO
>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

Telescopic switch is equipped on the steering column. The operation signal is inputted to the automatic drive
positioner control unit when the telescopic switch is operated.
Component Function Check

CHECK FUNCTION
1.
Select “TELESCO SW-FR”, “TELESCO SW-RR” in “Data Monitor” mode with CONSULT-III.
2.
Check telescopic switch signal under the following conditions.
Is the indication normal?
YES
>> INSPECTION END
NO
>> Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to
Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK TELESCOPIC SWITCH SIGNAL
1.
Turn ignition switch ON.
2.
Check voltage between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 5.
NO
>> GO TO 2.
2.
CHECK TELESCOPIC SWITCH CIRCUIT
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect automatic drive positioner control unit connector and tilt & telescopic switch connector.
3.
Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and tilt & telescopic
switch harness connector.
4.
Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.

signal is inputted to the automatic drive positioner control unit when the memory switch is operated.

CHECK FUNCTION
1.
Select “MEMORY SW 1”, “MEMORY SW 2” in “Data Monitor” mode with CONSULT-III.
2.
Check seat memory switch signal under the following conditions.
Is the indication normal?
YES
>> INSPECTION END
NO
>> Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to
Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH SIGNAL
1.
Turn ignition switch ON.
2.
Check voltage between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 6.
NO

CHECK MEMORY SWITCH CIRCUIT
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect automatic drive positioner control unit connector and seat memory switch connector.
3.
Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and seat memory
switch harness connector.
4.
Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit harness connector and ground.
