CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN A/C RELAY AND COMPRESSOR
Check circuit continuity between A/C relay harness connector E71 terminal No. 3 and compressor harness connector A3
terminal No. 1.

Continuity should exist.
If OK, check harness for short.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY FOR A/C RELAY
Disconnect A/C relay.
Do approx. 12 volts exist between A/C relay harness connector E71 terminal Nos. 1, 5 and ground?

Check power supply circuit and 10A fuses [No. 28 located in the fuse block (J/B)
and No. 66 located in the fuse and fusible link box].
Refer to EL-12, EL-16, “Wiring Diagram — POWER —”.

If OK, check for open circuit in wiring harness.
Repair or replace as necessary.

If NG, replace fuse and check wiring harness for short circuit.
Repair or replace as necessary.

CHECK A/C RELAY AFTER DISCONNECTING IT
Refer to HA-80.

Reconnect A/C relay. And GO TO 5.

1. Replace A/C relay.
2. Go to “FUNCTION CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE”, “Self-diagnosis”, HA-37 and per-
form self-diagnosis STEP-4.
Confirm that magnet clutch operation is normal.

Do approx. 12 volts exist between ECM harness connector F48 terminal No. 21 and ground?

CHECK VOLTAGE FOR ECM
Do approx. 5 volts exist between ECM harness connector F48 terminal No. 45 and ground?

refrigerant-pressure sensor output voltage.
Check voltage between ECM harness connector F48 terminal No.
81 (W) and ground.
