Description
EBS00MOL
The electrical load signal (Headlamp switch signal, rear window defogger switch signal, etc.) is transferred
through the CAN communication line from combination meter to ECM.

Diagnostic Procedure

1.
CHECK LOAD SIGNAL CIRCUIT OVERALL FUNCTION-I
1.
Turn ignition switch “ON”.
2.
Connect CONSULT-II or GST and select “DATA MONITOR” mode.
3.
Select “LOAD SIGNAL” and check indication under the following
conditions.
OK or NG
OK
>> GO TO 2.
NG
>> GO TO 3.
2.
CHECK LOAD SIGNAL CIRCUIT OVERALL FUNCTION-II
Check “LOAD SIGNAL” indication under the following conditions.
OK or NG
OK
>> INSPECTION END
NG
>> GO TO 7.
3.
CHECK REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER FUNCTION
1.
Start engine.
2.
Turn “ON” the rear window defogger switch.
3.
Check the rear windshield. Is the rear windshield heated up?
Yes or No
Yes
>> GO TO 4.
No
>> Check rear window defogger circuit. Refer to
4.
CHECK REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN OR SHORT
1.
Stop engine.
2.
Disconnect rear window defogger and door mirror defogger relay.
3.
Disconnect combination meter harness connector.
4.
Check harness continuity between rear window defogger and door mirror defogger relay terminals 5, 7
and combination meter terminal 33.
Refer to Wiring Diagram.
5.
Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
OK or NG
OK
>> GO TO 6.
NG
>> GO TO 5.
