ASCD ACTUATOR/PUMP CHECK

CHECK VACUUM HOSE
Check vacuum hose (between ASCD actuator and ASCD pump) for breakage, cracks or fracture.

Check wire for improper installation, rust formation or breaks.

CHECK ASCD ACTUATOR
1. Disconnect vacuum hose from ASCD actuator.
2. Connect the hose of hand vacuum pump to ASCD actuator.

CHECK ASCD PUMP
1. Disconnect vacuum hose from ASCD pump and ASCD pump connector.
2. If necessary remove ASCD pump.
3. Connect vacuum gauge to ASCD pump.
4. Apply 12V direct current to ASCD pump and check operation.

CAUTION:
I
Be careful not to twist ASCD wire when removing it.
I
Do not tense ASCD wire excessively during adjustment.
Adjust the tension of ASCD wire in the following manner.
1.
Loosen lock nut and adjusting nut.
2.
Make sure that accelerator wire is properly adjusted. Refer to
FE-3, “ACCELERATOR CONTROL SYSTEM”.
3.
Tighten adjusting nut just until throttle drum starts to move.
4.
Loosen adjusting nut again 1/2 to 1 turn.
5.
Tighten lock nut.

System Description

Power is supplied at all times
I
from 40A fusible link (letter I, located in the fuse and fusible link box)
I
to circuit breaker terminal 1
I
through circuit breaker terminal 2
I
to power window relay terminal 3,
I
to front power window main switch terminal 4, and
I
to front power window switch RH terminal 6.
With ignition switch in ON or START position, power is supplied
I
through 10A fuse [No. 10, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
I
to power window relay terminal 2, and
I
to smart entrance control unit terminal 27.
Ground is supplied to power window relay terminal 1
I
through body grounds M9, M25 and M87.
The power window relay is energized and power is supplied
I
through power window relay terminal 5
I
to front power window main switch terminal 11,
I
to front power window switch RH terminal 13,
I
to rear power window switch LH and RH terminals 5.

through body grounds M9, M25 and M87.
WINDOW UP
When the front LH switch in the front power window main switch is pressed in the up position, power is sup-
plied

to front power window regulator LH terminal 1

through front power window main switch terminal 2.
Ground is supplied
I
to front power window regulator LH terminal 3
I
through front power window main switch terminal 3.
Then, the motor raises the window until the switch is released.
WINDOW DOWN
When the LH switch in the front power window main switch is pressed in the down position, power is supplied
I
to front power window regulator LH terminal 3
I
through front power window main switch terminal 3.
Ground is supplied
I
to front power window regulator LH terminal 1
I
through front power window main switch terminal 2.
Then, the motor lowers the window until the switch is released.
