HOOD LOCK

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

After installation, perform hood lock control inspection. Refer to

DLK-166, "Inspection"

.

Inspection

NOTE:

If the hood lock cable is bent or deformed, replace it.
1. Check that secondary latch (1) is properly engaged with second-

ary striker (2) with hood’s own weight.

2. Check that primary latch (1) is securely engaged with primary

striker (2) when hood is dropped with hood’s own weight from

approximately 200 mm (7.9 in) height.

3. While operating the hood lock/fuel filler door release handle assembly, carefully check that the front end of

hood is raised by approximately 20.0 mm (0.79 in). Also check that hood lock/fuel filler door release han-

dle assembly returns to the original position.

4. Check that hood lock/fuel filler door release handle assembly operates at 49 N (5.0 kg-f, 11.0 lb-f) or

below.

5. Install so that static the hood is 300 – 490 N (31.0 – 50.0 kg-f, 67.4 – 110.2 lb-f).

NOTE:

• Do not exert vertical force on right side and left side of hood lock.

• Do not press simultaneously both sides.

6. Check the hood lock lubrication condition. If necessary, apply a suitable multi-purpose grease to second-

ary latch (1) and hood lock assembly (2).

REMOVAL

1. Remove inside handle. Refer to

DLK-168, "INSIDE HANDLE : Removal and Installation"

.

2. Remove outside handle. Refer to

DLK-169, "OUTSIDE HANDLE : Removal and Installation"

.

3. Disconnect the harness connector from the door lock actuator.
4. Remove front door lower sash (rear). Refer to

INT-19, "Exploded View"

.

5. Remove door lock assembly bolts and door lock assembly.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

• Do not reuse door lock assembly bolt. Always replace it with a new one when it is removed.

• After installation, check door open/close, lock/unlock operation.

• Check door lock cable is properly engaged with outside handle bracket.

FRONT DOOR LOCK

• Check door lock assembly for poor lubrication. Apply a suit-

able multi-purpose grease to door lock if necessary.

REMOVAL

1. Remove front door finisher. Refer to

INT-15, "Removal and Installation"

.

2. Remove upper side of sealing screen.

NOTE:

Cut the butyl tape so that some parts of the butyl tape remain on the sealing screen, if the sealing screen

is reused.

3. Disengage lock knob cable (2) and inside handle cable (3) from

clip (1).

4. Remove inside handle bolt.
5. Disengage inside handle (1) from door panel (2) by sliding

toward vehicle rear and separating.

6. Disengage inside handle cable (3) and lock knob cable (2), and

remove inside handle (1).

REMOVAL

1. Fully close the front door glass.
2. Remove front door finisher. Refer to

INT-15, "Removal and Installation"

.

3. Remove sealing screen.

NOTE:

Cut the butyl tape so that some parts of the butyl tape remain on the sealing screen, if the sealing screen

is reused.

4. For drivers side only, open rod holder (1) by pulling downward

and separate key rod (3) from door lock assembly (2).

5. Disengage outside handle cable (1) from cable clip (2).

6. Remove door side grommet (1), and loosen bolt from grommet

hole (2).
