FRONT DOOR LOCK

7. While pulling outside handle, remove door key cylinder assem-

bly (LH side) or outside handle escutcheon (RH side).

8. While pulling outside handle (1), slide toward rear of vehicle to

remove outside handle.

9. Remove front gasket (1) and rear gasket (2).

10. Slide outside handle bracket toward rear of vehicle to remove.

: Front

11. Disconnect outside handle cable (1) from outside handle bracket

(2) as shown.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

• Check rear door hinge rotating point for poor lubrication. if necessary, apply a suitable multi-pur-

pose grease.

• Check that door lock cables are normally engaged with inside handle and outside handle.

• After installation, check door open/close, and lock/unlock operation.

REMOVAL

1. Remove inside handle. Refer to

DLK-173, "INSIDE HANDLE : Removal and Installation"

2. Remove outside handle. Refer to

DLK-174, "OUTSIDE HANDLE : Removal and Installation"

.

3. Remove bolt (A) from the front door glass channel rear (1).

4. Disconnect the harness connector from door lock actuator.
5. Remove door lock assembly bolts and door lock assembly.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

• Do not reuse door lock assembly bolt. Always replace it with a new one when it is removed.

• After installation, check door open/close, lock/unlock operation.

• Check door lock cable is properly engaged with outside handle bracket.

• Check door lock assembly for poor lubrication. Apply a suit-

able multi-purpose grease to door lock if necessary.

REMOVAL

1. Remove rear door finisher. Refer to

INT-17, "Removal and Installation"

.

2. Remove upper side of sealing screen.

NOTE:

Cut the butyl tape so that some parts of the butyl tape remain on the sealing screen, if the sealing screen

is reused.

3. Disengage lock knob cable (2) and inside handle cable (3) from

cable clip (1).

4. Remove inside handle bolt.
5. Disengage inside handle (1) from door panel (2) by sliding

toward vehicle rear and then separating.
