Fuel tank
Low fuel level
Filling
A label affixed to the inside of the flap reminds
you of the type of fuel to be used depending on
your engine.
When the low fuel level is reached
this warning lamp comes on in the
instrument panel. When it first comes
on there remains approximately
5 litres of fuel in the tank.
To fill the tank safely:
F the engine must be switched off,
F open the fuel filler flap,
F insert the key in the cap, then turn it to the
left,
F remove the cap and hook it onto the clip
located on the inside of the flap,
F fill the tank, but do not continue after the
3rd cut-off of the pump
; this could cause
malfunctions.
When you have filled the tank:
F put the cap back in place,
F turn the key to the right, then remove it
from the cap,
F close the flap.
Additions of fuel must be of at least
5 litres to be registered by the fuel
gauge.
The key cannot be removed from the
lock until the cap is refitted.
Opening the filler cap may create a
noise caused by an inrush of air. This
vacuum is entirely normal and results
from the sealing of the fuel system.
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres
(petrol) or 48 litres (Diesel); (Depending on
version: approximately 30 litres (petrol or
Diesel)).
You must refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer also to the
"Checks" section.

Fuel used for petrol
engines
The petrol engines are compatible with
E10 bio-petrol (containing 10 % ethanol),
conforming to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 % ethanol)
are reserved exclusively for vehicles marketed
for the use of this type of fuel (BioFlex
vehicles). The quality of the ethanol must
comply with European standard EN 15293.
Fuel used for Diesel
engines
The Diesel engines are compatible with
biofuels which conform to current and future
European standards (Diesel fuel which
complies with standard EN 590 mixed with
a biofuel which complies with standard
EN 14214) available at the pumps (containing
up to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
B30 biofuel can be used in certain Diesel
engines. However, this use, even occasional,
requires strict application of the special
servicing conditions. Contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or diluted,
domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited (risk of
damage to the engine and fuel system).

Misfuel prevention (Diesel)*
Operation
When a petrol filler nozzle is introduced into the
fuel filler neck of your Diesel vehicle, it comes
into contact with the flap. The system remains
closed and prevents filling.
Do not persist but introduce a Diesel type
filler nozzle.
It remains possible to use a fuel can to
fill the tank.
In order to ensure a good flow of fuel,
do not place the nozzle of the fuel can
in direct contact with the flap of the
misfuel prevention device and pour
slowly.
Travelling abroad
As Diesel fuel pump nozzles may
be different in other countries, the
presence of the misfuel prevention
device may make refuelling impossible.
Before travelling abroad, we
recommend that you check with the
CITROËN dealer network, whether your
vehicle is suitable for the fuel pumps in
the country in which you want to travel.
Mechanical device which prevents filling the tank of a Diesel vehicle with petrol. It avoids the risk of
engine damage that can result from filling with the wrong fuel.
Located in the filler neck, the misfuel prevention device appears when the filler cap is removed.

the road is clear.
Additional lighting
Other lamps are installed to fulfil the
requirements of particular conditions of
visibility:
-
a rear foglamp to be seen from afar,
- front foglamps for even better forward
vision.

Manual guide-me-home
lighting
The temporary illumination of the dipped beam
headlamps after the vehicle's ignition has been
switched off makes the driver's exit easier
when the light is poor.
Switching on
F With the ignition off, "flash" the headlamps
using the lighting stalk.
F
A further "headlamp flash" switches the
function off.
Switching off
The manual guide-me-home lighting switches
off automatically after a set time.
Lighting on audible warning
When the ignition is switched off, all
of the lamps switch off automatically,
unless guide-me-home lighting is
activated.
If the lighting is switched on manually
after switching off the ignition, there
is an audible signal when a front door
is opened to warn the driver that they
have forgotten to switch off the vehicle's
lighting, with the ignition off.
In some weather conditions (e.g. low
temperature or humidity), the presence
of misting on the internal surface of the
glass of the headlamps and rear lamps
is normal; it disappears after the lamps
have been on for a few minutes.

Linked with the Guide-me-home
lighting
Association with the automatic illumination
of headlamps provides the guide-me-home
lighting with the following additional options:
-
automatic activation of guide-me-home
lighting when automatic illumination of
headlamps is switched on (in the vehicle
parameters of the multifunction screen
configuration menu),
-
selection of the duration of maintaining of
the lighting for 15, 30 or 60 seconds in the
vehicle parameters of the multifunction
screen configuration menu (except for
monochrome screen A
where this is
preset).
Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction of the
sunshine sensor, the lamps come
on, this warning lamp is displayed
in the instrument panel and/or a message appears
in the multifunction screen, accompanied by an
audible signal.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
In fog or snow, the sunshine
sensor may detect sufficient light.
Therefore, the lamps will not come on
automatically.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor,
linked with the rain sensor and located
in the centre of the windscreen behind
the rear view mirror; the associated
functions would no longer be controlled.
Automatic illumination of
headlamps
The sidelamps and dipped beam headlamps are
switched on automatically, without any action on the part
of the driver, when a low level of external light is detected
or in certain cases of activation of the windscreen wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficient level or
after the windscreen wipers are switched off, the lamps
are switched off automatically.
Activation
F Turn ring A to the "AUTO" position. The automatic
illumination of headlamps is accompanied by a
message in the multifunction screen.

LED daytime running lamps
On starting the vehicle, in daylight the LED
lamps come on automatically, if the lighting
stalk is in position "0" or "AUTO".
If the sidelamps and headlamps are switched
on manually or automatically, the LED lamps
switch off.
Setting
For countries where exterior lighting by day is
not a legal requirement, you can activate or
deactivate the function via the multifunction
screen configuration menu.
In countries where daytime lamps
are a legal requirement:
- this function is activated by default;
it cannot be deactivated,
-
in daylight, the sidelamps and
number plate lamps also come on,
-
If the sidelamps or headlamps
are switched on manually or
automatically, the LED lamps
switch off.
In these countries, for versions
not fitted with LED daytime
running lamps, it is the dipped
beam headlamps that come on
automatically on starting the vehicle.
Allowing the signature of the vehicle to be identified, this daytime external lighting comprises two sets of light emitting diodes (LEDs), located below
each front lamp unit.
