Seat belts
To correctly position a seat belt: place the lap
strap as low as possible and well adjusted on
your hips.
Ensure that the diagonal belt passes over your
shoulder.
To unfasten the seat belt: Press the orange
button marked "PRESS". The seat belt will be
released automatically.
Front seat belt not fastened /
unfastened
If the driver's seat belt is unfastened or not
correctly fastened when driving the vehicle:
● There is an audible signal.
Fastening
To fasten a seat belt: insert the tongue into the
buckle for the corresponding seat and ensure
that it has latched correctly.
● A warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel of your
E-MEHARI.
General points on child
seats
Infants and children must be given
special protection.
The vehicle's seat belts are not suitable
for their size.
The diagonal part of the seat belt can
pass too close to their head or their
elbow, which can cause serious lesions
and serious injuries in the event of
sudden braking or an accident.
If the lap part of the seat belt is not
suitable for the size of your children, it
can introduce the risk of being thrown
forward and so cause serious or fatal
injuries in the event of sudden braking
or an accident.
Always use safety restraint systems
appropriate for the size of your
children
so as to provide the highest
level of safety for them when the vehicle
is moving.

ISOFIX mountings (child
seats)*
ISOFIX is an ISO standard for child seat
mountings (ISO standard 13216-1: 1999).
This system avoids the use of the vehicle's seat
belts for securing the child seat: two latches on
the child seat engage on two anchorage points
(1)
positioned between the seat cushion and
backrest at the right and left seating positions
of the bench rear seat of your E-MEHARI.
(1)
Locations of ISOFIX mountings.
(1)
Location of the Top Tether ring for fixing the
upper strap.
The ISOFIX standard is overseen by the
International Standards Organisation.
Always use child seats compatible with
this standard when using the dedicated
mounting points.
Using a child seat that is not compatible
with the ISOFIX standard could
increase the risk of accident and injury
for the child, as well as for the other
occupants of the vehicle.
The aim of the ISOFIX system is to facilitate
the installation of a child seat and its transfer
to another vehicle, while avoiding the problems
inherent in fixing systems that use the vehicle's
seat belts.
Your E-MEHARI is fitted with ISOFIX
mountings at the left and right seating positions
of the bench rear seat.
This system simplifies the installation and fixing
of a child seat while improving the safety of the
installation at the same time.
* The legislation on carrying children is specific
to each country. Refer to the legislation in
force in your country.

Failure to observe the instructions and
warnings related to the installation of
a child seat or child restraint system
would expose the child and the other
occupants of the vehicle to the risk of
serious injury in the event of a collision
or sudden braking.
Always use child seats that meet
the European standards and follow
scrupulously the installation and fixing
instructions provided with the child seat.
Before installing a child seat, check that
there is nothing that might interfere with
its fixing to the two mounting points.
You will not be able to secure a child
seat to the two mounting points if they
are not clear of obstruction.
A child restraint system in a vehicle
parked in the sun can become very hot.
Always check the surface of the child
seat before placing the child in it, to
avoid any risk of injury.
The incorrect installation of a child seat
compromises the protection and safety
of the child and the occupants of the
vehicle in the event of a collision.
