INSTALLATION
NOTE: The entire folding top assembly should
never be adjusted at its mounting points. The fold-
ing top has been fixture set to correlate with the
location of the side glass. This section describes
the process to replace the folding by locating the
new folding top in the same position as the part
requiring replacement.
(1) Install the new folding top into the vehicle (Fig.
15).
(2) Align the main pivot bracket attaching points
with the marked position of the original folding top.
(3) Install 1 main pivot bracket bolt at a time
while visually verifying the position is the same as
the original folding top.
(4) Install the support brackets (Fig. 16).
(5) Install the exterior belt molding (Fig. 17). (Fig.
18).
(6) Install three bolts attaching each main pivot
bracket to the vehicle body (Fig. 19).

(7) Install the water trough into the folding top
floating bow (Fig. 20).
(8) Lower the folding top into the stowed position.
(9) Connect the wire harness from the main body
harness at the left side support bracket (between the
main pivot bracket and the rear seat back support)
(10) Install two nuts at the hydraulic pump assem-
bly (Fig. 21).
(11) Install
six
push-in
clips
(3/side)
on
the
hydraulic hoses and wire harness (Fig. 22).
(12) Install the hydraulic pump cover (Fig. 23).

(13) Install the rear seat back. (Refer to 23 -
BODY/SEATS/REAR
SEAT
BACK
-
INSTALLA-
TION).
(14) Install the well liner (Fig. 24) and (Fig. 25).
(15) Install the rear quarter trim panels. (Refer to
23 - BODY/INTERIOR/REAR QUARTER PANEL
TRIM - INSTALLATION).
(16) Install the rear seat cushion. (Refer to 23 -
BODY/SEATS/SEAT CUSHION - INSTALLATION).
(17) Verify that the dowel pins are properly
aligned with the dowel pin receptacles in the wind-
shield frame mounted strikers). If required, adjust
the C-link stop-screws as described in Adjustments of
the C-link Stop Screws. (Refer to 23 - BODY/CON-
VERTIBLE TOP - ADJUSTMENTS).

REMOVAL
(1) Open the folding top to half position that each
area is able to access (Fig. 26).
(2) Unscrew 12 screws to remove Canopy from
front header (Fig. 27).
(3) Remove canopy adhesive tape from the front
header edges.
(4) Remove tension cable with two spring clips on
each side (Fig. 28) and (Fig. 29).
(5) Fold the canopy back to the B-Bow (Fig. 30).
(6) Unscrew nine screws to remove the headliner
from the front header.
(7) Remove five screws from each bow strip (Fig.
31).
(8) Remove the headliner attachments (elastic
straps) from the folding top frame.
(9) Remove C-Post flaps from the C-Post stamping
(two expanding two rivets per side).
(10) Remove screws from the floating bow to
detach the headliner (Fig. 32).
