Symptom:
REAR WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED
When Monitored and Set Condition:
REAR WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED
When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.
Set Condition:
Whenever the module receives a rear window motor operation signal and
there is no current or over current sensed on the Rear Window Driver circuit, this code will
set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
MODULE OPEN
REAR WINDOW DRIVER DOWN CIRCUIT OPEN
REAR WINDOW DRIVER UP CIRCUIT OPEN
REAR WINDOW DRIVER UP CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
REAR WINDOW DRIVER DOWN CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
REAR WINDOW DRIVER DOWN CIRCUIT SHORT TO REAR WINDOW DRIVER UP CIRCUIT

APPLICABILITY

Disconnect the affected side Window Regulator Module connector
Connected a jumper wire between the Fused B+ circuit and the Rear Window Driver
Down circuit in the connector.
Connect a second jumper wire to the Rear Window Driver Down circuit and
momentarily touch it to Ground ( the motor should begin to lower the window).
Reverse the jumper wires momentarily to drive the motor Up.
Did the window motor operate properly?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 2

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the affected side Window Regulator Module connector
Disconnect the Power Window Motor connector.
Measure the resistance of the Rear Window Driver Up circuit between the Module
connector and the Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 3
No
→ Repair the Rear Window Driver Up circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the affected side Window Regulator Module connector
Disconnect the Power Window Motor connector.
Measure the resistance of the Rear Window Driver Down circuit between the Module
connector and the Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 4
No
→ Repair the Rear Window Driver Down circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the affected side Window Regulator Module connector
Disconnect the Power Window Motor connector.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Rear Window Driver Up circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Rear Window Driver Up circuit for a short to ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 5

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the affected side Window Module connector
Disconnect the Power Window Motor connector.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Rear Window Driver Down circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Rear Window Driver Down circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 6

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the affected side Window Regulator Module connector
Disconnect the Power Window Motor connector.
Measure the resistance between the Rear Window Driver Up circuit and the Rear
Window Driver Down circuit in the motor connector.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Rear Window Driver Down circuit for a short to the
Rear Window Driver Up circuit.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Power Window Motor/Regulator in accordance with
the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Symptom:
REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT OPEN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT OPEN
When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.
Set Condition:
If the Module senses a voltage above 4.8 volts on the Rear Window Switch
Mux circuit, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
TROUBLE CODE PRESENT

With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Operate the rear window switch down and up several times.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT OPEN?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The conditions that caused this code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for a intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

With the DRBIII
t, erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Connect a jumper wire between Ground and the Rear Window Switch Mux circuit.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display REAR WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO
GROUND?
All
Yes
→ Replace the power window switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 3

Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Rear Window Switch Mux circuit between the Window
Module connector and the Window Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Rear Window Switch Mux circuit for an open.
