APPLICABILITY

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Front Window Switch Mux circuit.
Is the resistance below 5000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Front Window Switch Mux circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Symptom:
FRONT WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VALUE OUT OF RANGE
When Monitored and Set Condition:
FRONT WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VALUE OUT OF RANGE
When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.
Set Condition:
If the Module receives a resistance value which is not acceptable on the
Front Window Switch Mux circuit, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES

With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Operate the front window switch down and up several times.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display FRONT WINDOW SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VALUE OUT
OF RANGE?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The conditions that caused this code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for a intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Turn off all lights.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Window Switch Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Go To 3
No
→ Repair the Window Switch Ground for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between the Front Window Switch Mux circuit and Ground.
Select the voltage measured.
All
4.9 to 5.2 Volts
Replace the power window switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Below 4.8 Volts
Above 5.3 Volts

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Front Window Switch Mux circuit.
Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Front Window Switch Mux circuit for a short to
ground.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Window Switch connector.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between the Window Switch Mux circuit and ground.
Is there any voltage present?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Front Window Switch Mux circuit for a short to
voltage.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT OPEN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT OPEN
When Monitored:
Whenever the ignition is on.
Set Condition:
When the module senses ignition voltage via the PCI bus but there is 0.0
volts at the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit, this code will set.

NOTE: Ensure Fuse #14 is not open before proceeding
With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Open and close the door that this code was stored in.
Start the engine.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ The conditions that caused this code to set is not present at this
time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for a intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit and ground.
Is the voltage above 11.0 volts?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the
Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Repair the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
