(9) Remove
the
two
retaining
bolts
for
each
hydraulic cylinder (Fig. 71).
(10) Remove the hydraulic cylinders from the main
pivot brackets (Fig. 72).
(11) Disconnect the relay and motor connectors.
(12) Remove the motor/hydraulic pump assembly
from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position the motor/hydraulic pump assembly in
the vehicle.
(2) Connect the relay and motor connectors (Fig.
73).
(3) Install the hydraulic cylinders to the main
pivot brackets (Fig. 74).

(4) Install the two retaining bolts for each hydrau-
lic cylinder (Fig. 75).
(5) Install the two motor/hydraulic pump retaining
nuts (Fig. 76).
(6) Install the six cable tie straps (three per side)
to secure the wire harness.
(7) Install the motor/hydraulic pump foam cover.
NOTE: Take note of the reference marks along the
outer edge of the shelf seat brackets to ensure they
are installed back to the original position.
(8) Install the seat back support brackets (Fig. 77).
(9) Install the rear quarter trim panels, (Refer to
23 - BODY/INTERIOR/QUARTER PANEL TRIM -
INSTALLATION).
(10) Install the well liner/carpet into the folding
top well.
(11) Connect the battery negative cable.
(12) Verify normal power top system operation and
check for hydraulic oil leaks. Adjust power top as
necessary, (Refer to 23 - BODY/CONVERTIBLE TOP
- ADJUSTMENTS).
LATCH SYSTEM
REMOVAL
(1) Unlatch the folding top to allow access to the
latch system.
(2) Remove the screw from the D-Handle and set
the D-Handle and washer aside (Fig. 78).
(3) Remove the front rail seal. There is shims at
each attaching screw.
(4) Remove 12 screws attaching canopy to front
header and remove canopy (Fig. 79).
(5) Remove the canopy adhesive tape from the
front header edges.
(6) Remove tension cable with two spring clips on
each side.
(7) Fold canopy back to the B-Bow.
(8) Remove nine headliner attaching screws from
the front header.

(9) Remove nine screws to attaching front header
trim panel and remove front header trim panel.
(10) Mark the position of the latch hook base
plates both Left Hand/Right Hand side (Fig. 80).
(11) Remove the three screws attaching latch hook
base plate, remove four screws attaching center plate
and remove latch assembly.
INSTALLATION
(1) Place latch assembly into position.
(2) Install the three screws attaching latch hook
base plates, install four screws attaching center
plate. Align all latch hook base plates marks and
secure screws.
(3) Adjust the latch hook in relation to the dowel
pin with the ball socket. The center line of the dowel
pin and center line of the of the 10 mm (0.39 in)
diameter roller is 44.90 (1.77 in) (Fig. 80) and (Fig.
78).
(4) Secure the ball socket with the hexagon nut.
(5) Secure the connection between the ball socket
and the ball stud with the collateral
(6) Install the D-Handle and secure with the set
screw.
(7) Close the folding top to check the correct posi-
tion of the dowel pin and hook.
(8) If necessary adjust the bracket hook lever
assembly
(9) When
adjustment
is
correct,
remove
the
D-Handle and assembly the folding top assembly
(10) Install nine screws to attaching front header
trim panel and install front header trim panel (Fig.
79).
(11) Install nine headliner attaching screws to the
front header.
(12) Place canopy into proper position.
(13) Install cable with two spring clips on each
side.
(14) Install Canopy adhesive tape onto the front
header edges.
(15) Place canopy into position.

(16) Install 12 screws attaching canopy to front
header.
(17) Install washer and setscrew for the D-Handle.
(18) Latch the folding top ensure proper fit and
operation.
RAIL SEALS-FRONT AND
CENTER
REMOVAL
(1) Before removing the seal assemblies determine
the correct number of shims that will be needed
when installing the new seal assemblies. Count the
existing number of shims used in each position.
(2) Adhere tape to the side glass and mark the
position of each seal in the fore/aft and up/down
direction. This step is critical for repositioning the
new seals
(3) Remove the old seal and retainer assemblies.
INSTALLATION
(1) Align front seal assembly to the marks from on
the tape.
(2) Use the same number of shims in each position
as was used on the old seal assembly.
(3) Install rail seals screws. Tighten each screw to
5.5 N·m (49 in. lbs.) Torque
(4) Remove the tape from the side glass.
RAIL SEALS-REAR
REMOVAL
(1) Using a 04.0 mm drill bit and drill motor, drill
out the four rivets on each rear rail seal.
(2) Remove the seal and retainer assembly
INSTALLATION
(1)
Place the new seal and retainer in position.
(2) Verify that the holes in the canopy are lined up
with the holes in the seal retainer.
(3) Attach the new seal and retainer assembly
using the blind rivets (four per side).
WIRE HARNESS
REMOVAL
(1) Remove rear seat back.
(2) Remove left side quarter trim panel.
(3) Remove well liner/carpet.
(4) Remove foam pump cover from over pump.
(5) Disconnect the wire connectors to the rear win-
dow defogger on backlite one on each side and pull
wire through the wire slings.
(6) Remove the tie straps between the pump
assembly and the left side main pivot bracket.
(7) Disconnect the wire connectors to the pump
motor, relay, and main body harness
(8) Remove wire harness.
INSTALLATION
(1) Place wire harness into position.
(2) Connect the wire connectors to the pump
motor, relay, and main body harness.
(3) Install tie straps (6) between the pump assem-
bly and the left side main pivot bracket.
(4) Pull wire through the wire slings and connect
the wire connectors to the rear window defogger on
the backlite one on each side.
(5) Place the foam pump cover over pump.
(6) Install the well liner/carpet.
(7) Install left side quarter trim panel.
(8) Install rear seat back.
