IDENTIFYING MANUAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL PROBLEMS
Perform TEST SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION 1A Before Proceeding
Ensure there is communication with the ‘‘Body Control Module’’, and the ‘‘Powertrain Control
Module’’ before proceeding. If any communication problems . . .perform ‘‘Vehicle Communication’’
TEST 1A.
1. With the DRB, select ‘‘Engine’’, ‘‘Read DTCs’’. If any diagnostic trouble Codes are present,
record and compare them with Fig. 1.
If any climate-related codes are present, refer to the appropriate powertrain diagnostic manual.
2. With the DRB, select ‘‘Body System’’, ‘‘Body Computer’’, ‘‘Sensors’’. Read the ‘‘Ignition
Voltage’’. If it does not show battery voltage when the ignition key is on . . . .perform ‘‘Vehicle
Communication’’ TEST 14A.
3. With the DRB, select ‘‘Body System’’, ‘‘Body Computer’’, ‘‘Read DTCs’’. If any climate-related
codes are present . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .perform TEST 1B.
