IDENTIFYING CLIMATE CONTROL TROUBLE CODES

Perform TEST 1A Before Proceeding

1. Record and erase the trouble code(s).

2. Turn the blower on, set the temperature control at mid position, start the engine, then using the

DRB select ‘‘Body Computer’’ ‘‘Read DTCs’’.

If no code appears, slowly run the control from cold to hot, then back to cold while looking for
BCM codes. If a code appears, perform the indicated test from the list below.

If a code still does not appear, continue by turning the temperature control from cold to hot, then
back to cold. Turn the mode switch to each position, waiting 30 seconds between each one.
Momentarily press the A/C and Rear Defog buttons. Upon seeing the first code appear, erase
the code and perform the indicated test from the list below.

NOTE: If multiple codes appear, repair any that relate to a short circuit first. If a short to battery code
is set, all 4 ‘‘Output Shorted to Battery’’ codes will appear. It will then be necessary to isolate each
circuit to determine which circuit is at fault.

3. If no codes are seen, observe the climate system performance, then continue TEST 1A.
