Limphome (override) procedure
This procedure allows the unlocking of the ICU by entering the PIN via the RR DEF SW, in case the transponder code
cannot be read or is unknown. 200ms after ignition-ON, a valid transponder code must have been received, otherwise the
ICU will remain "Locked" and the lamp will start blinking at 2Hz. This can happen through a malfunction of the
transponder, the reading device or an unknown transponder code.
The following grid indicates weather the passage into override procedure is possible according to the status of the ICU:
ICU Status
Is override procedure possible?
Learnt
Yes
Neutralized
Yes
Virgin
No
The PIN has to be entered using the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON. The "IMMO" indicator will blink at 2Hz (duty cycle ON/OFF=1).
2. Press the RR DEF SW and keep the switch pressed. Then, the "IMMO" indicator will blink at 0.6Hz (duty cycle
ON/OFF=0.2) after approximately 1.5 seconds.
3. Release RR DEF SW when the "IMMO" indicator blinks the same times as the number of PIN's (so-called passcode) first
digit. The following figure shows signal of IMMO indicator.
A. If the RR DEF SW is released in the following position;
"1" : the digit entered is one,
"2" : the digit entered is two,
...
"9" : the digit entered is nine,
"10" : the digit entered is zero.
B. If the RR DEF SW is not released after tenth flash the indicator goes OFF and exit limphome procedure.
4. Press the RR DEF SW within approximately five seconds.
Then, the "IMMO" indicator will blink at 0.6Hz (duty cycle ON/OFF=0.2) after approximately 1.5 seconds. If the RR
DEF SWis not pressed within this time-out, the limphome procedure is aborted and the lamp is turned OFF.
5. Replace step and step 4 for entering the rest of the PIN's digits.
A. If the PIN entered correspond to the PIN of ICU, the "IMMO" indicator starts blinking at 0.5Hz (duty cycle
ON/OFF=7) andICU is unlocked and starting is allowed during approximately 20 seconds.
B. If the PIN entry is incorrect, the "IMMO" indicator is turned OFF and starting is not allowed. Repeat limphome
procedure.
6. Start the engine.
Use the following procedure for only detail reference.
