Electrical Horn

I、Summary

(I)Structure Overview

Horn is installed in front module assembly in front of vehicle, located in left side of front module, and equipped with a

monophonic electrical horn.

Component Position

1. Horn assembly

(II)Operation Principle

Control mode of horn is controlling power supply terminal, and control actuation of horn relay by horn switch or BCM, and

then supply power to horn by relay, thus horn can work. Horn is always connecting to grounding.

II、Troubleshooting

(I)Troubleshooting List

1. Detect after-sale installed device that may infect system operation.

2. Detect easily connected or found system component, to detect whether it has apparent damage or may cause fault.

3. If horn not work, should check and maintain power supply or bad contact or open circuit of switch grounding circuit before
replacing horn.

4. When horn discontinuously works or pressing one side of steering wheel horn switch lose efficacy, it’s possible that horn

switch bad contact, and should regulating horn switch contact in steering wheel at this time.

Operation Instruction:

Speedometer and Subtotal mileage

Speedometer displays vehicle speed by km/h. Odometer displays driven mileage number of vehicle.

Total mileage

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power Supply on Vehicle

Combination meter

151

Total mileage gauge can display driven mileage number of vehicle so far.

Tachometer

Tachometer displays engine speed, unit is r/min.

Safety belt prompting light

Always twinkle until driver fastening safety belt. If driver has already fastened safety belt, the light will not be on.

Safety belt prompting sound

Not fasten safety belt and vehicle speed is more than 20km/h, it will send out warning sound of 1Hz frequency to prompt

driver to fasten safety belt.

Air bag ready indicating light

There is air bag indicating light in dashboard, the light display air bag symbol. System will check whether there is fault in air

bag system. And can learn whether there is electrical fault in air bag system through this light. System inspection includes air bag

sensor, air bag module, circuit and diagnosis module. When vehicle starting, the light is on for several seconds, and then off, which

indicating air bag system is ready. After starting vehicle, if air bag ready indicating light is always on or on when driving, it

indicating air bag system is abnormal.

Charging system indicating light

As a check item, when ignition switch is connected and engine is not starting, charging system indicating light will be on for

a short time, which indicating its function is normal. After engine starting, the indicating light will be off. If indicating light is not

off or on when driving, it indicates that there is electrical fault in charging system. If driving vehicle when the light is on, it will

exhaust battery power. If have to drive for a short distance when the light is on, must close all accessory, such as radio and A/C.

ABS indicating light

When turning ignition switch to on, the warning light will be continuously on for several seconds, which is normal

phenomenon. If warning light is always not off, turn ignition switch to LOCK. If warning light is on, stop vehicle as soon

as possible and close ignition switch, and then restart engine to reset system. If warning light is still not off or on when

driving, maintain vehicle. If convention braking system warning light is not on, vehicle can brake, but can ’t use ABS. If

convention braking system warning light is on, there is no ABS, and there is fault in convention braking system. When

turning ignition switch to on, ABS warning light will be on for a short time, which is normal phenomenon. If warning light

is not on at this time, should remove fault to let it send warning when fault appearing.

Engine coolant temperature gauge

When turning ignition switch to on, coolant temperature gauge displays engine coolant temperature.

Oil pressure warning light

If engine oil pressure is too low, the warning light will be always on after engine starting or on when driving, which indicating

engine oil is not enough. Engine oil level may be too low, and maybe there is other oil fault. Oil warning light may be on in the

other three conditions:

1、As a check item, when turning ignition switch to on and engine not starting, the warning light will be on, which indicating

its function is normal. After engine starting, the warning light will be off. If turning ignition switch to on and the light is not on,

there is fault in fuse or light bulb.

2、If engine idling running when at red light, warning light may twinkle and then be off. If emergency brake, the light will be

on for a short time, which is normal phenomenon.

△ Note

Don’t continue to drive when oil pressure is too low.

△ Note

If engine oil lack of proper maintenance, it may damage engine.

High beam indicating light

Every time high beam light is on, the indicating light will be on.

Vehicle door not close indicating light

When vehicle door is not closed, screen door open indicating light will be always on until all vehicle doors are closed and

totally locked.

Fuel gauge

When turn ignition switch to on, fuel gauge displays remainder fuel in fuel tank. When fuel tank is almost empty, fuel level is

too low and warning light will be on. There is still little fuel at this time, but should fill fuel as soon as possible.
