With a scan tool, observe the DRL Status
parameter in the body control module
(BCM) data list.
Does the scan tool display On?
Go to Step 4

Test the DRL supply voltage circuit for an
open, high resistance or short to ground.
Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring
Repairs .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness
connector of the underhood fuse block.
Refer to Testing for Intermittent
Conditions and Poor Connections and
Connector Repairs .

Replace the DRL relay. Refer to Relay
Replacement (Attached to Wire
Harness) or Relay Replacement (Within
an Electrical Center) .

1. Set the park brake.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine
OFF.
3. With the scan tool, read the park brake
switch status.
Does the scan tool display Applied?
Go to Step 6

1. Disconnect the park brake switch.
2. Connect a fused jumper wire between
the park brake switch signal circuit and
the ground circuit.
3. With the scan tool, read the park brake
switch status.
Does the scan tool display Applied?
Go to Step 7

Test for an open or high resistance in the
park brake switch signal circuit or ground
circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and
Wiring Repairs .
