1. Install the oil filter bypass valve (2).

2. Install the oil filter adapter (1).

Tighten: Tighten the oil filter adapter to 55 N.m (40 lb ft).

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the oil filter.

Tighten: Tighten the oil filter to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

4. Refill the engine oil. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid and/or Fluid and Lubricant

Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.

OIL PAN REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front differential. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement in Driveline/Axle.

2. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.

3. Remove the crossbar bolts.

4. Remove the crossbar.

5. Remove the transmission cover bolt and cover.

6. Drain the engine oil and remove the engine oil filter.
