INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:

After the inspection is completed, clear the DTCs.

1. CHECK DTC

a. Disconnect the K16 and K17 amplifier connectors.

b. Clear the DTC.

c. Check if DTC 74-40 is output.

OK: DTC 74-40 is not output.

NG: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER (see REMOVAL )

OK: Go to Next Step

2. CHECK DTC

a. Reconnect the K16 amplifier connector.

b. Check if DTC 74-40 is output.

OK: DTC 74-40 is not output.

NG: Go to step 7

OK: Go to Next Step

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - SPEAKER)

a. Disconnect the K17 amplifier connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

Tester Connection

K17-2(WFL+) - Body ground

Always

10 kohms or higher

K17-1(WFL-) - Body ground

K17-9(WFR+) - Body ground
K17-3 (WFR-) - Body ground

K17-4(CTR+) - Body ground

K17-10(CTR-) - Body ground

K17-5(WF1+) - Body ground

K17-12(WF1-) - Body ground

OK: Go to Next Step

4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER LH

a. Disconnect the N10 speaker connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER LH (see REMOVAL )

OK: Go to Next Step

5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER RH

a. Disconnect the M8 speaker connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER RH (see REMOVAL )

1.5 to 2.1 ohms

OK: Go to Next Step

6. INSPECT FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER

a. Disconnect the K14 speaker connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER (see REMOVAL )

OK: REPLACE BOX SPEAKER (see REMOVAL )

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - SPEAKER)

a. Disconnect the K16 amplifier connector.

b. Disconnect the K10, K12, O2 and O8 speaker connectors.

c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Always

1.5 to 2.1 ohms
