2. INSPECT RUNOUT OF DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR
a. Set up a dial indicator and measure the drive plate runout.
Maximum runout: 0.20 mm (0.00787 in.)
If the runout is greater than the maximum or if the ring gear is damaged, replace the drive plate (see
REMOVAL ).

3. INSPECT RUNOUT OF TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily mount the torque converter clutch to the drive plate. Set up a dial indicator and
measure the torque converter clutch runout.
Maximum runout: 0.30 mm (0.0118 in.)
If the runout is greater than the maximum, try to correct it by changing the installation direction of
the torque converter clutch. If the runout cannot be corrected, replace the torque converter clutch.

HINT:
Mark the position of the torque converter clutch so that it can be installed correctly later.
b. Remove the torque converter clutch.
